In GT3 polyphony have stuffed it up.
In the American version of GT3 you could be doing 120 mph, thats 200kph.
Now my point is that in the UK version of GT3 you could be doing 120 kph and you'll be going the same speed as you are in the American version. So all Polyphony have done is switched mph for kph they didn't think about converting the speeds did they, they just switched the words. :)

Don't blame me if you can't understand this, I know, it's bloody hard to explain!

PS - Am I right about this and I got TT10 3 weeks ago. Ohh goody for me heheh

mph, i just tested with a POS stock miata and ran the 1/4 mile in 16 s@83mph....that sounds about right, it would make much sense if it was 83km/h

you mean 400km/h. Without the wheelie trick you can get it up to 280-300 mph (somewhere around there) wich would mean around 450 km/h.

Come to think of it that is insane.
Although I do have a video of a Supra doing 300km/h so i guess it is possible for a 1800+hp car do to 450.

hmmmmmmmmm me thinks. So what is the top speed that you could get in an Escudo in the US version.

In my PAL version in says 460 kph when I'm in my escudo no wheelie settings. But I made it have no downforce and I ajusted gear box.

converted into mph or km, 2.238 equals 1.39063 and 3.6017 (both approximates), respectively. Unless Laguna was intentionally changed to a shorter version in GT3, the game probably has many errors.

simple math would show us that if we take the length of test course (6+ miles) and divide it by the time it takes (1 minute 20+ sec in the escudo or 15+ minutes in the Vitz) and then multiply by 60 minutes per hour, we'd have a relatively easy justification of accuracy?

This would have to happen in the KPH version as well.

My calculations may not be right (I'm an architect not an engineer) but I doubt that Polyphony would have missed that. The torque conversion but not the distance conversion...

To edit this...From gt3times.com:
Test Course 6.43 miles or 10.343 KM
Time to lap: 1:18 sec (or 78 seconds)

calculates to 296 MPH
Also
Calculates to 477 KPH

Someone needs to check their math, and mine as well.

AO
Which is the correct conversion.

Fastest I ever got the escudo to was 330.1mph. w/out wheelie.

It's very annoying when you're speed is displayed in KPH (I have the PAL version). 60 MPH is much easier to understand than 100KPH.

i think the mph is right, if you do your0-60 time it is around 3-4 for faster cars, and that seems about right..so i think that the mph is correct version.

All you need to do is buy a car, say a supra. Find out how fast it can go from 0-60mph in real life (just say it is 6 seconds) Go to the test course and find out how long it takes you to go from 0-60 and 0-100. If 0-60 mph takes 6 seconds then you know the calculations for mph are correct. If 0-60km/h takes 6 seconds then you know Km/h is messed up.

btw, how do you do a wheelie?

Get in the Escudo or toyota GT1 race car (not road), max it out

then lower spring rates as low as possible. Move the transmission to wide, then move the final gear all the way left.
Put full downforce on back, and least on front

Then remove asm and tcs (put them to zero)

Leave everything else where they are.

Go on Test Track and around 220-30mph your nose should pick up and you'll be riding on 2 wheels and u should be accerating very fast.

wide gives you more top speed, but a tad slower acceleration, sports gives you lower top speed, but a slightly quiker acceleration.
