I have had to correct the above sentence 5 times so will type it all again below to show you whats happening, Its doing my head in about to throw it thru a window.

Below is exactly as above without going back and correcting it.

Is it a laptop or a desktop?

If its a desktop, swap the keyboard out.

Laptop? Insert a USB keyboard and see if the problem still exists.

Did you only re-install windows?
Did you re-installed all proper drivers?
Mainboard drivers, Audio drivers, Network drivers, Touchpad driver, VGA driver.
Even if all work after windows install, those are simple windows drivers.
You could need the proper drivers for a hardwarepart and is now messing with your laptop.

I had you problem once, but that was after some liquid got on my keyboard.(wrong letters appeared)

What brand is your laptop.
And did you use the proper factory image recovery provided or did you just use a windows DVD.

[If it's a laptop]
Are you sure you're not accidentally brushing the touchpad while typing?

I hope it's ok to bump this thread instead if making a new thread.

I was in bed this morning with my HP Windows 8 laptop (model 15-d035dx) when it fell out of my bed. Luckily, it landed on a pillow so there's no visual damage but when I turn it on, the fan turns on and there's something else I hear, maybe the CD drive? (I'm not good with computers) and the light for my WiFi is on, and the screen stays black. After 20 or 30 seconds it completely shuts off. I've tried a hard reset multiple times withe no luck.

I don't know what this is but I figured it may help so I'll include it.

Simple things first: did you try taking out the battery and putting it back in?

Many times.

Funnily enough, after I gave up trying to fix it, I just kept pressing the power button and eventually it fired up normally. So....problem solved, oddly enough. Not sure what the issue was but as long as it doesn't do it again I'm happy!
