So yesterday, I was handing my mother my laptop. She was going to put in her lap, when it slipped and hit the hardwood floor. It still ran perfectly fine though. Last night I went to go shave, and when I came back it was making an odd noise. It was running really hot as well. I turned it off and didn't use it all night. I have yet to turn it back on mostly because I don't have much time, but I'm worried it's a fan problem. Since it has to cool a Centrino Duo a small fan error will run the system hot in a matter of minutes. It already burns my legs with the fan. Is this the problem, or is it something else?

The Thermal Module(Heatsink/fan assembly) may have been knocked loose.

I would just pull the drive out and back it up then get it looked at.
