I am heading for University in the fall, majoring in accounting, taking biology and chemistry on the side.

I need something light, small, durable and somewhat advanced.

Criterias are:
1GB of DDR
100+GB of Hard-drive
Less than 6 lbs.
Less than $2000
Anything else an university student needs (feel free to list some must-haves)

Right now I am considering

Acer Aspire 3050
Toshiba Satellite U200
HP Pavilion DV2201
Toshiba A100

Feel free to add to the list

Thanks in advance!

I'd seriously suggest Macs. You can partition the disk to run windows if you absolutely had to. Both of these meet your requirements, and have 2gb of RAM to boot. Apple has fantastic customer service if you ever have a problem.

If you want a graphics card built in, get a MacBook Pro for $1999

Otherwise, get a MacBook with integrated graphics for $1500

If you don't mind a white laptop (the black one is more expensive-- because it's black) and are just using the computer for school without gaming and all that in mind, go for the regular MacBook!

Unless OS X sparks curiosity, you'll get better performance for the money ordering a laptop from Acer or similar PC manufacturer. Build quality is just as high on anything but 'value' product lines when compared to Macs.

The extra performance is wasted on windows. :)
You're serious. Holy balls. You know, you don't see PC guys running around claiming their computers will not only solve any problem or complete any task you might have, but it'll also cure world hunger on the side.

How's this: Back up your claim, and I will buy a Mac.

That said, here are few to add to your list:
