Alright so a couple of days ago my old DFP wheel decided to bite the dust. I've been using it and abusing it for close to 5 years now so I wasn't that surprised or sad to see it go. It served its purpose very well. The problem is now I need a new wheel. Basically I want to know everyone's opinion about which wheel I should get

Also, does anyone know why on earth is the G27 sold out everywhere? Did Logitech stop making it?

With the release of Gran Turismo 5... Well, they've been selling like hotcakes. You'd be lucky to get one over $350+

I snagged one off eBay for $300 not too long ago, but they're raising prices with the lack of availability.

I've had both. The DFGT is nice with the red knob for adjusting things like brake bias and traction control on the fly. It does have a loose feel in the force feedback compared to the G27 though.
the G27 is a much nicer wheel but I was honestly surprised it was so small. I was expecting something car sized and it is more the size of the DFGT.
I'm still waiting on my Collector Edition (which I pre ordered June 28 - Thanks EB... they gave me free shipping for the screw up) so I can't comment on in game support but the buttons didn't work in prologue, as well as the leds. Read somewhere the leds work in GT5.
Also things like gated shifter and 2 FF motors are a big plus for the G27.

Well i got G25 and DFP, im actually trying to sell the DFP since its just sitting here.. Im only askign $50 locally though. These are the older versions of the ones your interested in, and you had the dfp before. Im in socal btw. But dude go on craigslist theres people selling them.

I dont see the DFGT being any better.. The plastic gears are the weakest link in these imo *broke a few teeth but i patched it with teeth from r/c car gears 👍 * .

But the DFP does feel like it has better force feedback than the G25, but the G25 has nicer pedals, and hopefully they release full support for the g25/g27.

Hopefully you can use the G27 on your pc as well, since i think buying for the sole purpose of just being for your ps3 is a waste in my opinion. You will get the most out of it if you also use it on your pc since PC sims utalize the clutch and shifters better.

A few of the guys on my car forum *zilvia.net* said they scored the G27 for like $120 or so from logitech's website with a promotion code, you could try looking that up.

yea i was using my old DFP with rFactor quite often. It's not so much a matter of money for the G27, it's just that I can't find it anywhere

eBay's got them for sure. You could try Craigslist as well, but it's a bit sketchy.
