Just did a 30 lap race there online. Cars under 450bhp, all torn up at end, was my best experience ever in a racing game, beating race cars with my BMW 135i coupe. We need a London night, or endurance there

London isn't great in my opinion.
Why?
Because it's corners are nothing special and the kerbs are too high.
The track just doesn't flow too well for me.

I've always prefered Hong Kong to London. I'd actually forgotten that there was a London track in GT5 as I hardly ever drive on it.

The strange flow of the track is a problem for me too.
Especially that first righthand corner is one that never feels 'right' for me, even when I hit it just right.
I can't say I hate the track, but it is definately not one of my favourites.
For small cars it's pretty ok though, and I will definately try karting there once.

+1

One of my least favourite tracks in the game. Too cramped, boring scenery, too many right-angle corners. OTOH I love Madrid, Rome and even the much maligned Tokyo R246.

Pity we don't get GT4's Seattle...

Agree. I've come to like Madrid and Rome, but London... I wouldn't have missed it if it were left out.

I can appreciate the layout, but I'm not a big city-course kind of person. I like wider courses with more open space - I find city courses too concealed and unforgiving. I'm a fairly good driver and don't often go off the track, but I frequently put the car right at the edge either when apexing a corner or when I get in a bit of a drift coming out of the corner.

I have the unfortunate tendency to end up clipping the walls that tiniest bit, which throws me all over the place! That, and the speeds are lower on average and the narrow streets make it tough to pass. It's not just London, it's all city courses that have this problem, but they can be sort of fun in a light, nimble, slow-ish car...

i like the london track but thats probably because i recognise the places in it having grown up there.

the track i miss the most is Citta di Aria, lovely close walls and high speed really gives you a sense of near death experience the whole time!

I don't hate it but I don't like it either, it's just a very bland, boring street circuit. There are no elevations, no real challenging corners and nothing really exciting to look at.

I like it, I just wish they'd put a bloody pit lane somewhere. There are roads they could have used, but they didn't.

Sigh, another wasted opportunity in GT5 I guess.

Yeah definetly should have had a pit. A hong kong style one where it goes onto a different street would have been good.

I know and like the track but I don't know it as much as Rome, Opera Paris and Hong Kong so when I go round corners right on the limit I have the fear of god in me but when I exit millimeters to spare I take a huge sigh of relief.

I absolutely love this track! I personally enjoy the way it flows, and it's actually surprisingly fast if you have a grippy car.
I think small tracks are the best; raw power is useless and you can show up expensive supercars in an underpowered hatchback, which is pretty satisfying.
I wish it turned up more than once in the career mode, and if they add a pit lane it would make for some fantastic endurance races!

It`s not too bad. It is a bit dark, the curbs are highish and unforgiving and it`s a bit narrow and squeezy for my liking but it`s fun to drift/powerslide out of the corners in a 300-500hp rear drive car preferably a V8.

I love this track. Mainly because i spent hours upon hours there because of Prologue... and WRS (Weekly Race Series).

If you get the right people and cramp the grid full, it's close racing, claustrophobic, intense fun.

Agree with you there. 👍

I used to detest London with a passion, but after running it in the WRS I started to really enjoy it.

Squeezing one or two tenths more out of a lap actually became quite addicitve, often I would go through a corner and think I should have been 2 KMH faster through there.

It's a pretty track, but hate driving it.
Simply too claustrophobic and cramped with too many sharp corners.
There's no flow, and especially when you're racing the boneheaded AI it's impossible to drive or overtake in a clean way.

As far as city tracks go, Tokyo and Madrid take the cake. And I miss Hong Kong and Seattle...

I awaited longer version leading through bridges over Thames but it remained small and boring. So many better city tracks from GT4 were omitted into GT5.

Got to admit, the two London courses in Shift were better for bigger cars, longer, and drove across the river with Big Ben in the background (yes, I know it's the bell, not the tower!), but after I went totally OCD in Prologue trying to shave 1/100th off of a Mini ghost lap time for hours on end, I got to quite like it..!

Only took like 5 replies before someone mentioned Seattle. I was going to as well :D

I like London too.
