I drove a RHD Megane in Tenerife, it takes a little getting used to but it's not long before your driving like you do at home.

Erm, don't you mean LHD? RHD is what you have at home, and in Oz, Japan and a few other places. LHD is most of the rest of the world.
You drove LHD on the RHS surely?! Or did you take your English car out to Tenerife?

I always thought the other side of the Pennines was like another (wetter) country ;)

 No thats Wales.

I used my own car when I drove through Europe last year though, that was awkward at first having trouble seeing whats ahead but I was just careful when overtaking and so on.

I ran my grandad's LHD Orion diesel (non-turbo!) one summer, not long after i learnt to drive, having no power and the wheel on the wrong side made overtaking interesting to say the least!
