Hey.I was wondering which championship series gave you the Mercedes Benz CLK Touring Car (D2 AMG Mercedes) car as a prize other than the Amateur Silver Arrow races. Please help.Ty

Well, you could have looked at the Prize Car page, which lists all of the prize cars you can get, and you can't buy it.

I did this for you, though, and found out that that is the only way. I don't know if this was good or bad for you, but whatever the case, good luck.

What is wrong with winning it in the Silver Arrow Amateur race? It isnt that hard.

You are right. It isn't. I remember beating this bad boy with the SLK, or maybe that's the only car you can use... I forget. 'Twasn't hard though, at least give it a shot.

When I raced in the Silver Arrow, the CL's kept on hitting me in the back, trying to make me spin out. That was the only hard part for me.

You can use any of the Mercedes to win it.

I happened to use a loaded CL55 last night. Sold it right after i won the CLK Touring Car too. Stupid heavy pig of a car.

I was just curious to know if it was possible cos I am a cheapskate and don't want to shell out the beans for a Benz but guess I will have to.Should be an easy race considering I just beat the FF Pro single races.Thanks for the replies.

I used this set up : http://gtvault.com/SetupDisplay.cfm?SetupID=0702J84450668E7EA0A240441 and yet I keep losing to the stupid A.I on rome circuit.Does anybody have an ideal tunings or something better?I am very very close to getting out my shotgun and putting a hole in the PS2 cos this is just absurd.

You can only win a Mercedes if you claim the series title; so you must buy a Mercedes in order to pass that section, and win the SLK/CLK Touring car.

Like the TVR Tuscan, you have to buy it, you can't win one any other way.

And once you sell the CLK Touring Car, you can't re-win it without restarting, so you might want to hold on to it...

Yeah, but the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 is actually worth the money, while is CLK55 is not, nor the CL600. I'm sorry, but 90,000 bucks just is too much for 600 HP on a relatively heavy car. And the CL, well, its definitely not worth it. I mean, 1955 kg with with 361 HP just doesn't cut it.

But since you have to get one of those cars to win the Silver Arrow Races in Beginner and Amateur, bite the bullet and do it. Sell the SLK230 you win for Beginner and after you win the CLK Touring car, dump whatever Merc you used to win them.

Oh, I've already done both of those races. However, I still have my SLK and bought a CLK55 just for the fun of it. I also still have the CLK Touring Car. The CLK T.C. is good in my opinion; I enjoy driving it very much in the German Touring Car Challenge in the Amateur League. I think it is fun anyway... I wouldn't recommend selling the CLK T.C. at all. I would sell the SLK because you would get one from winning the race and you probably used one to beat the race in the Beginner League.

I wasn't advising getting rid of the CLK Touring Car, fi you were to only keep one Mercedes Benz in your garage, that would be the one to choose.

Oh, my bad. I just probably wouldn't have sold any of those cars besides the 2nd SLK230.

I tried it again using the CLK car and once again, I lose in the last corner of Rome Circuit.The computer suddenly speeds up and takes first place away from me like its got nitrous oxide or something. I apexed the turn alright and it always seems like the A.I has the advantage.

Does this race have tire wear? Can not remember. If not fit some soft tires. What do you have fitted to your car ?

Well I finally beat it yesterday morning.I gave in and gave the CLK55 full upgrades and won rome circuit with a 10 second lead. Just wished I had the skills to beat the race with almost stock settings.
