How to start this thread.....lets see:

I'm currently only about four hours into this game. It is every thing that I would have expected it to be with a few surprises. Here a few things that I have noticed and enjoyed so far.

    - The game play is outstanding. It really sucks you in, there's no such thing as a quick fix when playing this. It will engross you in a environment of secret covert ops that even makes you aware that your breathing is too loud.

    - The controls are kind of cumbersome to navigate though the game at first. They do have merit once you get used to the controls.

    - The Story line, so far, has picked up rather nicely from the first MGS, there's even some comical reference to Raven on the second level.

    - The physics engine seems to be pretty good with environmental effects on the character and items. Dragging people around are annoyingly slow, which is realistic considering. Dragging people down stairs proves to be easier reflecting and increase of speed. Dragging people "up" stairs should reflect and even slower dragging response, but proves to be a slight bug in the physics engine reflecting just as fast of a drag as if you were dragging him down stairs. Head band, rain, wind, water puddles, body parts all add to the realism of the game.

    - The graphics . . . . . . . . . . . . . .are as clean as I had hoped for.

    - The greatest surprise so far was when I was able to stuff a body into a locker! I have been saying for years that game developers need to enable this feature where it could be applied. Some has finally done it. It sounds little, but I have been scrutinizing games for little details such as this for years. Looking for the logical scenario that needs to be created.

I will try to post some screen shots as I have them and progress though the game.

Hey man, glad to hear you're enjoying the game as much as I am. I don't know how far I am into it, but probably not very much. My dad has this thing where he can't let me finish playing and he absolutely has to watch his television programs. Oh well.... I just got done watching the FMV where the tanker is no more (sorry if that gives something away for some people, but there is a TON more I could've).

This is absolutely one of the best games I've ever played, and possibly ever created.

To append my resent post concerning the posting of images from the game:

What I have seen does not deserve the attention of static images.....

Go buy the game and see for yourself...:)

Yeah I know how good MGS2 is! Or at least I sort of do. I am borrowing a friends MGS2 demo all this weekend. This game is so awesome!
Anyway, Pako is the demo anything like the real game?

It's a lot like it. I can't remember what difficulty I played the demo in . . . I'm currently working on the game in Normal Mode, and have noticed differences in item placement as well as some additional minor details here and there. For the most part though, it's very comparable to the demo if memory serves me correctly.

At the rate I'm going, I should have it completed by this weekend some time.

Then I can do it again on a harder setting. :)

    And again, and again, and again. . . . . .

how are the sound effects in this version ?

as it goes mgs always had the most impact on me , more-so than gt series as i found the awesome game paramaters and sound effects totally addictive , the famous alarm sound when spotted by a guard will never leave my thoughts , it's the 1st thing i think of when mgs is mentioned .

i am not at all pleased having to wait until february to be able to get my copy of this bound to be , the biggest most successful rpg in the world , but i will just have to sit and suffer with lower rated games until then along with gt3 and gta3 i should just be able to survive until then !

i hope you will still post a few in game pics pako for us brits who have to wait ! as i am after a nice mgs2 wallpaper for my desktop , and you know your the man who delivers SO DELIVER PLEASE !! :D :D lol

i have not even played the demo yet ! for some strange reason ? suppose i dont want to get into it then get stopped in my tracks .

    :(

enjoy the game you guys , i know i will :D

I'm about an hour and a half into, spent about 2 just goofin around seein what I can do, I like kicking people off the rises, and did you know that at the beginning, you can throw them over the side of the ship? its a place on the right side.

In the Room w/ Metal Gear(third room), How do you move? As soon as I started crawling, the colonel goes, "Intruder to the right" but I was then on the left"Intruder on the right" and the 20 marines saw me. How did you get around them?

I really suck at MGS 1 and 2. I'm not the type of person to be sneaky and stuff. I'm more of the go in shoot, blow **** up and ask questions later type of person. :D

I know what you mean about the addictive quality of this game, Pako. I spent the better part of Monday (5-6 hours in a row) playing this game. For all the screaming, swearing and cries of, "I hate this @#$%in' game!! AAAAAIIIIIIGH!" I just could not put it down! I beat the game in relatively short order though (on normal difficulty). I guess that's my only beef with the game: there's not enough of it! That, and there are excruciatingly loooooooooooong stretches of non-interactivity. Other'n'that, it's gorgeous, beautifully designed, a benchmark, etc., etc. I haven't seen anything this good on Xbox or GameCube! :mischievous:

I might suggest going back and trying it on hard (extreem) difficulty. In that mode, if the guards are ever alerted, GAME OVER! That would be a challange....:D
