Mid-Field Raceway Lap Times For 716 Cars!

Karmann is the most beautiful VW ever by faaaaaar!
My parents had a light blue Karmann Ghia when I was a very young child. Probably 3-4 years old. I can barely remember it, but I've seen it in old photos and it did look pretty cool. It's probably why I also love the Alpine A110 in GT6 as well. Those older cars had a beautiful design to them.

I'm at around 460 cars right now. When I was at 500, I would sell one, then test a car, then sell one, etc...

Then I needed money and didn't feel like grinding the Red Bull event so I went and sold off 100 or so cars.

I only have around 170 cars. Someday I'll get to 1000.

1:28.976 - 417 - Nissan Stagea 25t RS Four S '98

2.6L
280 hp / 6,800 rpm

1,720 kg

25t
2.5L
278 hp / 6,400 rpm
246 ft-lb / 3,200 rpm
1,650 kg

Interesting how there's barely any difference in performance between these two at Mid-Field.

Tested:

1:30.565 - 389 - Nissan Primera 20V '01
1:33.390 - 368 - Nissan Primera 2.0Te '90

20V
196 hp / 7,000 rpm

1,320 kg

2.0Te
148 hp / 6,500 rpm
137 ft-lb / 5,000 rpm
1,170 kg

These two handle surprisingly well.

Honda Accord Coupe '88
Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) '89

The R32 handles much better when 100% of the power goes to the rear.

300 cars!

Tested:

Nissan Skyline GTS25 Type S (R32) '91
Nissan Skyline Coupe 370GT Type SP '07
Honda Today G '85
Honda N360 '67
Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg ZR '97
Subaru 360 '58

I feel like a machine just churning out car after car  It only took 17 days to knock out 100 cars. That's an average of 6 cars per day.

The list is looking pretty solid so far with a lot of ties and comparisons to be made.

And the official slowest car in GT6 award goes to the Subaru 360 '58!

Can you test the GT-86 vs the GT-86 "Racing" version? I'm interested to see if there is a lap time difference because the car specs and PP show the same in the garage. The racing version clearly has a roll cage but I'm wondering if they changed anything about how the cars perform.

Tested:

Honda Insight LS '09
Toyota 86 "Racing" 13
Toyota 86 GT '12

There's basically no difference in the performance of both GT86's. It feels like the stock car rotates around corners better, while the "Racing" version is more planted.

I tested the stock car second, and couldn't go any faster than my first lap. I tried 10 or 15 times. With a wheel, I bet I could get 1:27 in both cars...

1:28.297 - 407 - Toyota 86 GT '12
1:28.336 - 407 - Toyota 86 "Racing" '13

Makes me think I should re-do the BRZ, as I got a 1:28.8 in that car. There's definitely a half second I'm missing there...

I don't know why I wanted to test the Spoon S2000 Race Car. It's got me wanting to give up on everything. I know 1:19 is possible, but it really takes a super-human to do it with a DS3. I have to put the game down before I go insane. Maybe I'll attempt it again tomorrow.

It's funny how one day, you can drive 20 laps and not be able to go any faster than your first lap, but then you take a day off and try again, and in just a few laps you beat yesterdays' best lap.

Spoon S2000 Race Car is officially a 1:19 with a DS3.

Spoon Civic Type R (EK) '00 is a 1:23 or 6 seconds better than the premium Civic Type R (EK) '97.

I can't tell you how many times I have taken out a car and run 10-15 laps and I can never put down a lap time faster than my very first lap. It's maddening!!

Yeah that can be very annoying. It's like "how can my warm-up lap be my best lap? This can't be!"

Tested:

Spoon Integra Type R (DC2) '99

Guess I'll finish the remaining Spoons tomorrow since I did 3 today :)

Finished testing the Spoon cars. Here's the ranking order:

1:19.890 - 483 - Spoon S2000 Race Car '00
1:22.232 - 449 - Spoon S2000 '00
1:23.879 - 448 - Spoon Civic Type R (EK) '00
1:26.850 - 415 - Spoon Integra Type R (DC2) '99
1:31.938 - 375 - Spoon CR-Z
1:35.160 - 361 - Spoon Fit Race Car '03

Mugen S2000 '00 ties the Honda S2000 '03 with a 1:24.8 which is funny because both cars have the same power and torque, but the Mugen weighs 10 kg less.

Tested:

Volvo C30 R-Design '09
Opera Performance S2000 '04

Opera's S2000 is (barely) faster than Spoon's, but much MUCH harder to tame. It has some wicked oversteer that drove me insane, while the Spoon is smooth as silk.

This makes me happy:
1:25.869 - 443 - Audi TTS Coupe '09
1:26.207 - 419 - Honda Integra Type R (DC5) '04
1:26.208 - 442 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR '96
1:26.311 - 440 - Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX TwinTurbo 2seater (Z32) '89
1:26.718 - 423 - Honda S2000 '06
1:26.948 - 429 - Ford Focus ST '13

2 FF, FR and 4WD cars within a second of each other on comfort soft tires and they are all premium. 👍

💡

Can you do me a favor at some point and test the '73 Stratos and '00 RenaultSport Clio V6 24V?
