Mod Chip Question

I had to return my cousins Japanese spec ps2 so i now need a modchip to continue playing gt4...

im getting a professional installation for AUS$120, with a 12 month insurance...
all mod chips are the same, or are there specific types i should go for?
also this guy said itll take 2 days before i can get it back, sounds shifty to me because i heard it only takes 20 mins to complete..

any thoughts or help would be appreciated!!

I would get Messiah 2 or DMS3 modchips if I were you, because it was already tested with GT4 Japanese and it worked.

About the two days to get it back, it´s unusual since it wouldn´t take more than an hour to install a modchip, maybe he has a lot of work on his hands right now.
