@GTveteran it all depends if there's the possibility to add the required color(s) to make the numbers or not. A lot of cars don't have numbers because the limitations in the amount of colors is to much (16colors max per palette for any given part of the body)

Ah I see, so it might well be at its limit. It is quite a colourful car.

Please note the part of my post that said 'known accurate data'. With no sources to verify them, these are just any old estimates off the internet. To explicitly say that PD's numbers are wrong and other data is right, some serious proof for that data is needed - PD at least had some sort of manufacturer sources for a lot of cars. A single peak power figure is also not all that useful - as mentioned it's the torque curve that matters.

@Jerzyk i understand you're wanting to help, but pez is asking for accurate sources, not just data like this
And as he said, an actual torque curve graph would be the best way to recreate a car's engine specs, as a number doesn't convey how an engine works.

Ok. How will I find it going.

Any chance port Gt2 ntsc soudtrack for Gt2 Pal-M ?

No, the length of each piece of music is hardcoded into the game and not editable, so tracks would be randomly cut off.

Great work on this! Any time frame for the north american version of the game to be released?

I don't have a date I can commit to yet, but it's not going to be too long. I have the mod working with the US Simulation disc, there are just a few things that I need to finish off like making the JP / PAL Hondas available for purchase.

Hey Pez, gotta ask you something... You pretend to put back the cars you removed due to the limitations on the ISO? Skyline V-Spec N1, 155, etc.
Removing the unused models or something like that doesn't release some space? Since I don't know how it works, I was curious about theses things. And other thing, the other paint schemes like the Exxon GT-One will still be in game? Since those don't exist in real life, could be another color option for the cars instead of another model? Or remove them from the game to release some space, I don't know? Thanks in advance, man and good luck with the new update!

wait, the mod deletes the 155?

Hello. I want to thank you a lot for the Gran Turismo 2 Plus mod and I want to give you some ideas too.

In the future, if it's possible, it could be great have some cars of first Gran Turismo like S14 Silvia LM edition, the red/black Honda NSX-R GT-1 Turbo, Acura NSX-R LM GT2 (the Acura version of this car), Toyota Chaser LM Edition or the purple/yellow Dodge Concept Car LM Edition.

I don't know if you have add a way to get the hidden Shelby Mustang GT500 KR of the NTSC version, but it could be good have it as prize car.

Another thing that could be good is adding prize cars to all the races which don't have (manufacturer races, rally races, and even maybe Event Synthesizer), because it makes the game more interesting.

Other thing that you could do is allow Sileighty and Nismo 270R to enter in the manufacturing Silvia/200SX event. And Clio 16V (despite it's slower than V6) to enter in the Clio Cup.

Besides, in the Arcade disk there are some "rally cars" like Toyota Celica (ST185, ST165 and 205), Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III and IV, VW Golf, Daihatsu Storia X4, Lancia Stratos, Peugeot 306, Nissan Pulsar GTI-R, Citroen Saxo, Mazda 323, Lancia Delta HF and Renault Megane, which don't exist directly with that name in the GT mode CD. If there is space, a good idea could be add this cars as prize cars in rally events of GT mode. I know that this cars could be created with modifications on base cars, but since these cars exists in the arcade CD maybe is easier to put them into the GT and in this way expand the game mode.

I know that exists limits due to CD ISO size of PSX, but maybe it's possible to create a variant of the mod in a non common size ISO (like CD-R 800MB) only to work on PC emulator which includes the full features and cars.

Another proposal is to expand the garage spaces to have more than 100 cars, even if it means it occuppy more gamesave memory card blocks.

I'm not sure if this things are possible, but at least they are some ideas that I was thinking and I want to give to you.

Another time I say thank you for all your work. Sorry if my English is not good enough.

Bye.

@subaru360
Your english is perfectly fine no worries there. I'll answer your questions/suggestions even though they all have been answered previously. (read the first post of the thread! it has the changes done tot he game in its current state, the latest few pages have what's coming)

GT1-only race cars are planned as soon as model format reaches enough comprehension. The Chaser LM has already been recreated by me and will be included in the next update to GT2+.

The hidden KR is just the name GT2 JP uses, it's the exact same car, with a body that's slightly unfinished. It and the duplicate Shelby GT350 have been completely removed to make space for new cars.

Prize cars in races that don't have any is already planned and a thing for some of them. SilEighty and 270R has already been fixed i'm pretty sure, Clio as well.

Rally Cars are also planned to become standalone, with their Arcade specs as far as i'm aware. I don't know if they will be ready for this update.

Non-standard formatting will not be a thing for GT2+. Pez wants it to work as closely as the regular game, and on as many platforms as possible, especially the actual consoles. We don't know for sure yet if a non-standard ISO might break things or not for emulation. So far we haven't had any need to go over the current size due to limitations imposed by the game itself.

The garage is uneditable. 100 spaces is all there is and nothing more. Use multiple memory cards if necessary.

To elaborate further on these few points: I do plan to do cars like the Silvia LM, but won't be including the Acura NSX-R GT2 or the old Concept Car LM because they're both fictional and very similar to existing cars. The game has a limit on the number of cars that it can handle, so I'd rather bring back more unique cars.

I think I've already allowed the Sileighty into the Silvia race, but not the 270R - good idea. I probably won't allow the Clio 16v into the V6 race though as I assume it was meant to represent the real-world V6 Trophy series.

The Arcade rally cars are actually just the normal cars with a few minor engine upgrades and weight reduction. I will be adding all of them though, as because they already exist on the disc they are already included in the car limit.

The disc size isn't a problem - each car model is only about 40KB in size, and there's at least 200 times that in free space. The limit is that the game crashes with more than a certain number of cars, which is probably not fixable.

Expanding the garage is not a case of memory card space, but the whole garage list has to be held in memory by the console, and the PS1 simply doesn't have enough space for more. Where cars 101 and 102 would be, it's already storing important things like the player's money.

Just as a little aside for the Dodge Concept Car LM from GT1 for those who don't know, this is available in a way as the racing modification for the Concept Car. So it is in the game already in that respect.

NSX-R GT2 is very much real. It's a totally different car compared to the JGTC NSXs or even the GT1 Turbo in the Japanese version of GT1.

I think you misunderstood his post, Pez2k is referring to the "Acura" NSX-R LM GT2, not the actual Honda NSX-R LM GT2. He already has the real, Honda version included in his mod.

In the US Version of Gran Turismo 1, Polyphony Digital decided to mark every JDM, Honda NSX as Acuras for localization reasons including the NSX-R LM GT2. Which makes no sense as the NSX-R (as you just showed) was always marked as a Honda.

Ahhh I get what you mean :P The "Acura" part didn't really register on my mind. Having played both the JP & US versions of GT1/2 back in the day they were always interchangeable to me

Yeah, the Acura version in US GT1 is exactly the same as the Honda in PAL, just with fictional badges. That Acura texture is also available as a RM for one of the Acura NSXes in GT2+, so it's still present in some form.

Please, add the Drag Race mode (fan-version), some removed tracks like Monte-Carlo and some removed cars like Rover Mini 1.3 Euro Edition, Peogeot 406 TOCA, Ford Escort 1.8 etc.

Drag race mode is completely non-existent, there's nothing there to restore. Monte Carlo is a long way from being a finished track, and nobody has figured out how to do the huge amounts of art work that would be needed. The Escort is also completely missing, the Mini is effectively the same as the Mini 1.3i already in the game, and the TOCA 406 is already in as the 406 RM.

Long story short, most of those are more like things that PD never made than things they cut, so it's less a matter of restoring them and more making them from scratch, which in certain areas is a long way past what is currently possible to do.

Okay, then try to add CLK Race Car and NSX-R LM GT2 as possible opponents in All Stars events.

Yeah, I'll most likely be adding a FAQ with the next update.

Okay, then try to add CLK Race Car and NSX-R LM GT2 as possible opponents in All Stars events.

Those events are already very close to the maximum number of opponents - I have considered it however, but I'm generally focusing on fixing things rather than making unnecessary changes.
