Nice one @joedakiss! Have you been practising. :)

And to @rj195992 for a fine first race position. @RagingBullLC would have probably finished higher too if I hadn't totaled his car. Sorry again, it's such a fast track that impacts are amplified. People just keep appearing in front of me on corners, don't they @JockeP22 :P

Hope the new guys enjoyed it nonetheless.

Unfortunately I hadn't practiced so thought I'd start from the back and let the car & track combo come to me. Which it did to a certain extent, since I managed to creep up the field, but my unfortunate meeting with LC and some further damage after a bit of aquaplaning hindered me somewhat.

Did you miss the chicane at the end @Sick Cylinder? I nearly followed you in thinking you knew where you were going. I still got a penalty because I cut it slightly while laughing.

Oh good to see @AndreasR make a surprise appearance too. How is the championship going?

Championship Points (also shown in post 1 on page 1)

Round 2 Historic Le Mans.jpg

In the Manufacturers points table Aston are now only two points behind Ferrari (top scorers this round were @joedakiss Ferrari and @AndreasR / Simbalora Aston.

Congratulations to Joedakiss on his first big win!

Congratulations also to @rj195992 / rj5992 on a debut podium and @RagingBullLC on a very strong debut qualifying performance.

Yes - I just didn't see the opening for the chicane - not sure if I missed it because of a change in lighting or perhaps checking the mirror at the wrong time. I then slowed and stopped before the line so I could be lapped by Joe and hopefully avoid driving another lap. The game made me do another lap, but I spun after being distracted by all the messages at the end of the race and finished 7th classified as a DNF.

@IfAndOr you might not believe me but actually no! I didn't get chance to practice this week apart from 20 mins in the pre-race room, I just seem to have bonded with the 250 TR and finally got my head around LM historic. Not sure if anyone noticed but me, @beachboy6658 and @RagingBullLC posted quali times within 0.02 seconds of each other, which is crazy on a track as long as LMH. Pole was a massive advantage tbh, I could see a lot of Bandicootery going on behind me that I'd usually have been caught up in (or causing)

Congratulations to Joedakiss on his first big win!

Congratulations also to @rj195992 / rj5992 on a debut podium and @RagingBullLC on a very strong debut qualifying performance.

Thanks Sick, I'm chuffed. It's taken 11 months of racing with you guys, hope it doesn't take another 11 to get another one!

@rj195992 and @RagingBullLC As Sick said, great performances on your debuts and good to have you guys with us. Will you be joining us in the 908s tomorrow?

Done some practice, in the dark, but not the rain, like the track though. Tried LM setting, in practice room, felt really bad, stable was better. Don't what happened on first lap, seemed to lot people overshooting, so bumped Sick. Had to pit twice for damage, so was a bit down, car feeling better now. Just have to watch for the under steer:boggled:.

Hey, guys. Sorry, this might confuse you, I ended up creating a new GT planet account to join you guys when some arse had the indecency to take my psn ID.... Well turns out that arse was me who had got an account a year ago using Facebook, not email.

So, yeah, you just have to write rj5992 in future Sick!

Thanks for the lovely compliments, it was great fun racing with you guys.

Extra congrats Joe, I didn't realise this was your first after 11 months!

I might be around tomorrow. I'll have to see how my setup goes tonight for the first round of a Formula Renault championship I'm participating in on Thursday. I need all the help I can get! (There's two places left in that if any of you are available and fancy teaming up. I'm not running it but can put you in touch with the guy who is)

See you guys around and great racing everyone.

Hi guys,

Despite the bandicootery in the race I did enjoy last night, qualifying was super tense and close. The brief bit i had the racing was cracking as well, some really great driving (especially @joedakiss, cracking dicing with you on the opening lap!)

Thanks for the comments, looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks for last night! See you tomorrow for the 908s.

Well as the car and the track are one of my favorites, I had to appear. Although I was concentrating on the GT4 Championship. The first race I finished fourth and today the second race I finished third. But I think the good tracks for the nercedes are yet to come and its esacially Monza I´m looking forward. But races are only every second week so I´ll have to wait for weeks for this. (well "wait" is not the right word because we got a huge order and a lot of work to do.) For anyone beeing curious this is our website: www.lichttechnik-rudolph.de
(only in german, sorry but you´ll find me on some pictures)

Luckily your website has an English translation option at the bottom...was able to read it all! Is that you on the Credentials page?

See you tomorrow for the 908s.
Oh right. I'll try and avoid you then. ;)

In fact I'll try to avoid everyone. For two weeks now I've managed to launch someone's car skywards. I'll be getting a reputation!

Good going Andreas. Did us voting for you get a power increase to your car?

Luckily your website has an English translation option at the bottom.
I think that was the ever helpful Mr Google doing the translation Skip. Well it was on mine.

Yeah, mostly its me doing the work. ;)

Sorry to tell you that your votes didn´t lead to a power increase. But I´ll start a new one right before the monza race.

It's been a wet couple of days so while I should have been practising in the TR at Oulton I've instead been messing around with PC2s multitude of date, time and weather permutations combined with tracks that are not often used.

If you get a chance try this for something a little different using the private testing feature. If you drive both ways it'll be 38 miles in total - so allow some time

Here's the thing that's a bit different. This isn't a race it's a casual drive in a classic sports car.
Stay to the right hand side of the road and try not to go above 60mph/100kph on the more open sections. If you end up on the wrong side of the road you're going to fast. If you crash the expensive vehicle you're definitely going to fast! The small amount of rain on the first part, while giving a lovely effect, is also designed to slow you down. If you drive sensibly it's fine.

Anyway, here we go...
You decide to head down to Monte and choose to take the classic Ferrari for a spin.

Car - Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
(The TR is ideal since it suits the location and also sounds great through the tunnels. The Aston DB is fine although it's right hand drive. Or any convertible would do.)

Into Town settings
Track - Azure Coast West (the bottom one)
Custom date - 27th July 2018
Session start time - 6.00 (am)
Time progression - 5x
Season - Summer
Weather slots - 4
Light rain / Light cloud / Hazy / Light cloud
Sync to race.

The day starts with a light summer shower which soon stops and the sun breaks through. As you near the coast a sea mist rolls in but lifts as you near Monte Carlo. Be careful though because the sun hasn't fully risen there will still be some residual puddles

(You have to exit at this stage, adjust the settings and re-enter)

After spending some time in the casinos you're ready to drive home.

The Return Home
Track - Azure Coast (the top one)
Custom date - 27th July 2018
Session start time - 20.00 (pm)
Time progression - 5x
Season - Summer
Weather slots - 4
Hazy / Light cloud / Medium cloud / Clear
Sync to race.

The roads have dried. The haziness in town clears as you start to ascend. The clouds eventually dissipate to leave a clear sky. As you drive it gradually darkens and all the lights come on in the houses and villages.

The date is important to since it seems SMS have modeled the sun and moon positions and phases!

The whole journey has some really magical effects that show off what PC2 can do. And it's a very nicely created track which probably you may overlook. Driving slowly you get to see its features.
(If you drive quickly it's probably more like the Targa Florio than Banochbrae!)

Since I recommend the Ferrari TR 250 Joe perhaps should like it. :)

Ha, nice idea @IfAndOr. I spent many childhood hours on the early GTA and TOCA games driving round trying to abide by road laws and speed limits. I've never told anyone else for fear of being labelled a weirdo, but good to see I'm in good company here :sly:
Spare time isn't quite so abundant these days but I'll take up your challenge for nostalgia's sake!

I think @Sick Cylinder has some ideas on incorporating point-to-point stuff into our series but he can can reveal details when he's ready...

p.s. me and the TR aren't talking at the moment. I used it to race a random DBR1-driving stranger online at the Nurburgring and got my arse handed to me, so the honeymoon is over.

Thanks for the idea If, definitely giving that a go.

Aahh well I was driving the TR against ai last night. Used loose and had a whale of a time practically drifting around Oulton (Once I'd got the ffb volume jacked up so I could actually feel the car). Will have to try stable for the sake of pace though!

And don't worry Joe, I used to do exactly the same thing. My favourite game for that was my PS1 copy of The Italian Job... Although I would inevitably get fed up of the Turin traffic after a while and head for the nearest staircase
