Motor City Tunes GT6

I have some thinking to do. Do I buy a PS4 and a new wheel or a gaming PC and drive the G27. I really want a Clubsport V2 wheel and pedals set. I do not have time for any other video games. I pretty much race in real life, watch real life racing or play Gran Turismo. So I really don't need a PS4 for other games.

Do you think that Project Cars will be as popular on PC as GT6 is on PS3? Will I be able to log on and easily find a room of people to race with?
Popular on PC in terms of sales vs. GT6? Not a chance, not even in the same ballpark. If they make several hundred thousand sales on pc it'll be huge. The online community on the other hand would probably rival or exceed GT6 as it's a highly focused racing game and most of the lobbies will be focused strictly on circuit racing. In Assetto Corsa for example, I've never seen a drag/drift/cruise room ever in the 4 months I've had the game, every single room is circuit racing. People who buy Project Cars on pc are buying it to race and the entire community is focused on that one thing. There will be leagues galore on various sim racing communities.

I think there's a huge opporunity for tuning as well as I've read many times over that the stock tunes on cars are very safe and conservative and that tuning a car to race will pay huge dividends. I know in Assetto Corsa fine tuning pays off in spades and you can really make cars suit your driving style. And if the driving experience is as rewarding as Assetto Corsa or even in the same ballpark, it's light years ahead of GT6. Another bonus is that the PC and console version of the game are supposed to be identical except for a couple of different features like the livery editor, but the physics are the same. So tunes that work on PC should work on console and vice versa. A PC tune in theory also works on XBone and PS4.

Tuning is also real world, there are no upgrades or parts to add, no PP targets to hit, no unrealistic tires to slap on, no detuning etc. If you can tune it on the real car it's in the game. Street car tuning is relatively limited, race car tuning is extremely complicated. It's really a whole different world from the GT series.

Not going to happen with me, Project Cars looks way better,and the tuning is truly tuning. I'm trying to find the video of it.Here is one video I found trying to find the other one.

The proof will be in the game play. Many, many, many game developers employ very slick marketing while launching a game. Yes the graphics look great, the damage model is awesome and there is tons of talk about having real world physics. I will believe it when I drive it. Drive Club hyped quite a bit. I played a demo a few weeks ago and it was very arcade like - not as bad as Need for Speed, but still very much point and shoot driving physics.

GT6 may have gotten the settings wrong, but the drive is still the best that we have so far. Once you figure out how to glitch the settings, most cars drive quite well. I am not disappointed in the drive in GT6. Other things bother me like, stupid AI who brake mid-corner (who does that in real life) and lack of promised features like the course maker.

I totally agree with your comment about the ridiculous AI in GT6. If anyone did drive like that in real life, they surely wouldn't get past the racing licence test little own get to start an actual event. That and the way they sometimes stop accelerating when entering a straight for no other reason than to balk your attempt to follow them onto said straight for a slipstreaming attempt! Mobile chicanery at it's worst :irked:
As for the incomplete game missing the features it was marketed to have, where are the priorities at PD HQ? Endless updates with fictional GT vision cars that, more than likely, will never see a public road accompanied by slick videos that chew up Gb of hard drive :rolleyes:

Shame on me :embarrassed:: I discovered your garage only recently, as I was focused on Praiano's thread. I still follow Laurent (and you ;)) on the other forum, but I feel now the urge to thank you for sharing your impressive work, experience and knowledges :bowdown:.

So many cars for me to tune in the next days and weeks! 👍

Two small details: can you look at the Sambabus and the 2CV? It looks like you copied/pasted infos from the 2CV for the VW (373 PP, 60 hp, 445 kg). And I guess the Citroën needs an oil change.

Yes the 2CV had an oil change and chassis rigidity.
