Welcome to the MSN (Monthly Saturday Night) 2019 - 1.5 Hour Gr.4 Endurance Race Season

We are strictly a GT Planet Series with all GT Planet Members. Anyone wishing to join our Series must first become a GT Planet member.

Our Gr.4 Endurance Races are held on the first Saturday of every month. There is no point system or awards/gifts handed out for our race's. You are not punished in anyway if you miss one race.

Everyone must use a different Gr.4 Car. For those who plan on running an entire season a special car selection process is held at the end of each year to determine what car you will be using for the entire next season. For those who do not plan on running the entire season or anyone that signs up once the special car selection process is over you then must choose a car off the Available Car List on a first come first serve basis.

Our focus is on having a fun but very competitive & clean race without keeping score. Again you are able to miss one race without having to worry about it effecting you in any negative way.
So if you miss a race your spot on the list and your car will be held for you until the next monthly race.
However if you miss two races/two months in a row your name will then be pulled off the list and your car is returned to the Available Car List.

You can always sign back up at anytime and for any race if the members list is not full. You will also have to choose a car off the Available Car List again.

    The Good Racecraft Guide

The MSN Gr.4 Special Car Selection Saturday will be held every December

At the beginning of each new season the Gr.4 car list gets wiped clean. Those who plan on running the entire season of (2020) will now battle it out to determine their car selection position.

This Special Qualifying Session will have everyone using the same car with the same setup on the same track. Nobody will know the identity of the qualifying car or the track location until we are all in the lobby on that day including myself.

I will choose one person that's not going to participate in this event to select the Car & Track for us. They will then enter the lobby on this day and reveal their choice to everyone for the first time. There will only be one restriction for the selection of the Car & Track and that is no 10 to 20 million credit cars will be used just because not everyone has them all or can afford them all.

The person with the fastest qualifying time gets to choose their Gr.4 Car first for the season Then the Gr.4 Car selection process will continue forward based on the qualifying times.

You will have the out lap for a warm up and then the next lap will be your qualifying lap. One lap is all you get so make it count.
Only one person will be allowed on the track at any given time during this Special Car Selection Qualifying Round. Everyone's cars will remain in the pits until your name is called upon to run your qualifying lap.

At no time will anyone be permitted on the track other than to do their qualifying lap. If you are caught driving on the track at any time other than your qualifying lap you will be disqualified from Car Selection Event.

Once you are finished with your qualifying lap please exit to the lobby screen where you can watch others run their qualifying laps. This will insure each person will have the track all to themselves but at the same time everyone will be able to watch your qualifying run (The pressures on).
I will record everyone's lap times after each run and set the grid order based on those lap times. Then we will go down that list in order based on fastest first as you will choose an Available Gr.4 Car that you wish to use for the entire season when it gets to you.

This special Qualifying Round will be held every December before the holidays and before New Season Begins.

    1. One lap qualifying run
    2. Tires will be Race Softs or Sport Softs depending on the car type.
    3. Track limit penalties will be set to high
    4. Damage will be set to heavy
    5. Car will remain completely stock with no tuning allowed except for the tire compound upgrade.

Just like in real racing push your car to hard and wreck then your qualifying run will be destroyed.
Abused the track limits and penalty will cost you a decent time.
There are some very sought after cars that will be on everyone list.
You will have to be on your best and not let the pressure or challenges facing you stand in your way for a chance at obtaining one of your top picks.

    Good luck everyone.

If your PSN name is different than the one you use on here then yes. If you want to include your Nationality that' fine but not needed.

I will send everyone a friend invite before this event so it makes things easier.

I don't know how the new BOP adj effected everyone but if you do not see a car on the list then it's not taken at the moment and you are allowed to switch.

Since they did nerf the Aston (and rightfully so), I think I will give the Jaguar a try.

Love the concept, US times won't work for me unfortunately. I am thinking about setting up something like this myself soon. One could set up a multiclass race this way.

Race is this Saturday and we still have some spots open if anyone else wants to join in.
There are people with different levels of talent signed up (list is on the first post) so don't be intimidated. Just race clean and all will be good.

Before we race tomorrow I want to take this time to go over some more details.

Waring this post is very long.

    Internet connection:

I'm going to do my best at keeping the lobby from having connection issues on my end. The lobby will be a public lobby so if something should happen to me then it will go to my good friend @Infineon who has an even faster connection. Not that I have any problems with mine but it's just a backup safety precaution because the servers are not always reliable.

Next up is the number of members in the lobby. Before the race gets started I will change the number of people allowed in the room to the exact amount of people in the race. This way because its a public lobby randoms will not be jumping in and out during the race and hopefully this creates a more stable room.

For those of you with excellent internet connections we will be running a chat room along with the race on the PS4. Up to 8 people can be in a chat room. If you wish to join we will get you setup before the race. Spoken language will be English.

    Race Stewart:

Because I'm hosting the race I will not be qualifying. I want to be available for everyone until the race starts should any questions or issues arise before the race.
I also have no problem dropping out of the race should a problem come up that needs my immediate attention like kicking some out for intentional dirty driving.

    Penalties:

The penalty settings for this race are on strong. If you get a non increasing penalty please keep racing as normal and lose it over time. If you get an increasing time penalty under no circumstance are you to stop or slow down with people behind you or in the racing line at all. There are several of spots on the track that you can safely stop to serve your penalty out of the others way.
At the very end of the front straight in the top right as far as you can go against with wall without being off the track is the best place. No one should ever be up there unless they are completely out of control.

    Exiting the Pits:

You must keep to the left side of the track when exiting the pits until you are up to full speed. Under no circumstance are you to jump right into the racing line when exiting the pits. Wheel users please make sure you wheel is straight before you regain control.

    Caution Flags:

With full damage on and ghosting off Caution Flags will actually mean something so do not ignore them. A wreak or car spinning on the track or someone serving a massive penalty could end your race quickly if you choose to ignore it.
If you are damaged or serving a penalty penalty going slow and off the race pace put your flashers on.

    Lap traffic:

Try to study each racers livery before the race you can do this by clicking on their names as well. It is your job to know who the leaders are and if your about to get lapped by them. You are also responsible to move out of their way if you're not racing someone eles for a position. Excessive light flashing should only be used to warn a racer they are holding up the leaders.
Also the leaders must remain respectful and not get frustrated and try to barge their way through.

I will go over more stuff in the lobby before the race.

See everyone tomorrow about 26 hours from this post.

Thank you all for the amazing race! Minor complications here and there, but it'll only get better as we do this more often :)

The start was carnage  as well as spinning out quite often :O
Quite glad that I was able to snatch 2nd despite those setbacks :D

Next time we will do private lobby to avoid causing more complications. I really didn't think that many random people would jump in on a 1.5 hour race. I was wrong. On the plus side we meet some really fast and nice people too.
