Shes ok. Shes fine. She wasnt hurt or anything.

Ok heres the story, she was heading out the door of her work with money that was to be taken to the bank (approx. $8900). Not more than a few seconds outside the door a guy came up and demanded the money she had. She tried to get back inside the store but he then pulled out a knife. She stopped and just gave him the money. Then he took off while my mom opened the door of the store and yelled that she had been robbed. Then she and a customer who had saw what happened took after the robber. My mom tried to write down his license plate but he looked like he might try to run her over so she backed away quickly. She only got a partial license plate while the customer got the full license plate. They went back to the store and about this time the supervisor was tearing off in his SUV or whatever and took off after the robber. It wasnt long before the police surrounded him with him still holding onto the money. The full amount was recovered. Of course the cops came did some questioning and stuff like that. She had to go down to the police station to fill out a report. It was during this part that she found out the suspect was released from a mental hosipital only 6 months ago. They gave my mom the rest of today off and tomorrow off with pay.

That's awful, but at least she's ok.

It makes you wonder what kind of a person would do this.

Thats a sad story with a great ending!! She wasnt hurt, they got the suspect, she got the money back, and she got days off paid. Great ending and glad she is ok!! :)

I'd have kicked the dude in the nards.

Glad your mom didn't get into trouble though - he could have easily just stuck her and ran.

Glad to hear that it worked out OK for your mom. Frightening, though, to think of the ways in which that situation could have gotten out of hand.

Who walks around with $9000 cash anyway? I button my wallet pocket when I have more than $150 in there.

Comes with working at a store. My dad carries about that every day to the bank. The people I work with carry checks averaging $300,000 about once a week.

Well, most impotantly, I'm glad to hear your mother was unhurt. After that, I especially glad to hear the guy got caught and the money got returned.
👍
Good work on everybody's part getting the plate number.

Yes, good to hear your mom is ok, now wth the guy that is caught, your mom should be able to go and kick him in the nards while he is in handcuffs..like a free shot!

Good news that your mum is ok now. Maybe the company will review the way money is taken to the bank now. What should happen to the robber? Stick him in jail or back in the mental home, I think jail would be more suitable.

Thanks everyone. :)

Glad your mother is ok.. I wonder how the robber knew she had cash.

We've been trying to figure that out. He must have been checking the place out or something to know to do it right then.

ummm, that has to be a typo, unless you're an NBA player. Do you mean $3,000 per week?

Good to know your mom is alright. 👍

That company needs to review its security. Seems they take the same amount out of the building same time, same day. Ought to vary it.

Did the supervisor get a speeding ticket? :D

They have security cameras on the outside of the building but we're not sure if any of them (there are 2 on the side of the building my mom came out) caught anything.

I dont know if the supervisor got one but he sure burned rubber to chase after the guy.

Glad she's ok. My father was robbed years ago. At gun point, I believe. But he was not shot, he was hit with the gun; needed stitches. He was in the driveway at the time. Count your blessings.

I'm happy everything turned out well, man. Thank goodness for those people at the store.

Glad to hear that she was not hurt 👍 and they managed to catch the criminal. 👍

I've witnessed a robbery before... shots fired, people hit.

I highly recommend that you get some pepper spray for your mother. Call it an early Christmas gift. Teach her how to carry and use it. The next time she makes a bank run, she should have it in her hands ready to go. My wife does that, just in case.

I'm glad to hear she's OK. 👍

Glad to hear that you mom was physically unhurt. 👍

I understand that carrying large amounts of money is part of some business's enterprise, but I still reckon it is not a smart thing to do (walking around with mountains of green..).

Just two days ago an armored car driver was killed in a robbery in s suburb of Phoenix at an upscale mall. The robber just shot the guy multiple times, took the bag of cash and rode of on a bike. They still haven't caught him.

Be grateful.
