Yes BMW are notoriously bad in the snow but their owners don't help!!

Chains are suppossed to go on the driven wheels you tards!!

But the best one of all!!

Edit: Gah! Beaten to it!

Ive always said beemers are driven by idiots and that video backs that theory up!:sly:

That one is AWD and is the exception to the rule. If rear wheel drive was so great why did AWD dominate them and make them go the way of the dinosaur in rally.

You sure? It said 330d on the back, not 330xd. Couldn't hear the vid, I'm at work.

the 3-series BMW in that vid is rwd, sure its slower than awd, but faster than fwd ;) and at least the most fun

Beemers are bikes, Einstein.

It's also a slang for BMW's in the UK, Hawking ;)

Back on topic though, it is a suprise that you can't fit snow tyres to them in game. I'm not sure we'll ever find out the reason why.

For people who watch to much rap videos yes :sly:

Nope, any BMW car can quite happily be reffered to as a Beemer in the UK, just like a Rolls Royce can be a Roller or a Mercedes-Benz can be a Merc. I'm sure some slang words you have for things would suprise us but it doesn't mean your wrong;) But this is now way off topic so lets leave it at that.

We have a lot of beemers running around in Canadian winters. It really depends on the driver. :)

Seen that happen to plenty of cars, not just BMW's (getting out of a parking spot, not bash into a wall, look whos driving the car!!!)

Also, do you know what tires were equipped? I'm pretty sure they are not dedicated snow tires.

Thats the whole point of most of the posts, it's the people driving not the car. Just happens to be a lot of idiots in the UK that dive BM's ;)

If you notice at the end of my post there us a winky winky face, indicating sarcasm or a tongue in cheek comment.

Maybe the reason why they didn't have dedicated snow tyres is because they had been playing gt5, tried to buy some couldn't and thought that counted in real life as well.

I know man, I wasn't taking what you said in an offensive manner, I'm just saying that there are plenty of cars that handle like rubbish in the snow without the proper tires. But it does sadden me that there are so many bad drivers in the UK that drive BM's :)

In previous GTs, there was no option to equip snow tires to a lot of rear-wheel drive cars, whether or not it would be possible for you to do so in real life.

This is not a comment on whether you can or can't drive rear-wheel drive cars in the snow, because, obviously, you can if you're not a forgetful dunce and actually try to drive on slick ice with summer tires. But it's a reflection of the current trend of using mostly front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive cars in rallies.

And they use front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive cars in rallies not because rear-wheel drive cars are undrivable in such conditions, but because they allow drivers to power-out of slides much more easily.

And cool it. Poh-tay-toe, Poh-tah-tow. Some people say BMW, some say "Beemer". Big deal. Completely off-topic.

I have a BMW 325 (e36) with no aids (except ABS if that counts) and I am doing fine in winter. In fact I find it more logical to handle than a front-wheel drive in the same winter conditions. Also it's more fun... 👍
