Not even sure this is the correct place to be asking...:guilty:

As a total new-comer to anything "online", and only just getting a PS3/GT5 bundle recently...I a little dumb founded....:confused:

I've sneaked in for a look at several online races, to see what goes on...
On both occasions it sounded like the people in the room were actually talking...
Last night I txt using my on-screen keyboard...very slow way to do it, and not very effective in my opinion...👎

Question,
Are most people using a mic/headset during their online racing to communicate ?? Rather than the old fashion keyboard..

If so, is this an "add on" to the PS3, and how does it attach/work...??

ANY help will make my online racing much easier. :)

Yep It's a Bluetooth headset. Most rooms there's a lot of people with them. You can buy one for cheap and set it up in the PS3 menu.

Any mobile phone Bluetooth headset will do, or, you could use a bluetooth keyboard.

Yes, the idea of a bluetooth keyboard would help too, but I'm slow with using text...:guilty:
Which is why I think I'll look at a headset. :)

Well...I now have a headset. :)
Ended up getting a SONY set, on sale at one of the post Christmas sales.
There was not a huge price difference even with most of the other brands I did see, so I decided to get it.
Now fully charged, I just need to learn how to use it.....:nervous: :lol:

You may have figured this bit out... but I struggled with it so here goes;

Make sure the headset is in the USB cradle with the cradle connected to your PS3 when you do the Bluetooth scan. After that the cradle can be connected to anywhere for charging :D

I just got my bluetooth 2.0 a couple of days ago and i am having a blast with it. The GT rooms seem to be a lot more mature than other games such as COD. Just make sure you don't have your mic muted when trying to talk, lol.

Should the scan take long ?
The bluetooth scan has been in progress for over 10 minutes...Does that sound correct ?
I thought it would have detected it pretty quickly....:dunce:
