omDidit Cockpit from time to time

hello all,

Please allow me to start a new thread, I was a fan of GT since the first game
I always play it using controller, until I got my first wheel, Logitech G25.
This is how it started:

i was excited when I recieved the wheel, and use any kind of think that can mount it. I found this garden table is quite good. So I use it

Then came along GT5P, more fun races i experience using wheel. But the problem is, this table is so light that it moves around during strong steering movement. I couldnt even learn to drift

btw, i bought G27 knowing thai it have smooth steering movement. So, G25 back to box, G27 up on the table, while i'm thinking of fabricating a decent cockpit setup.

So, here we go.. i just googling around and look for a design that fit to my taste. It started with Sparco GT cockpit as reference, but I raise the seat a bit up, to match driving position of saloon car, rather than open wheeler

This is half done. i put more support plate on the bending because I plan to mount th TV on this cockpit also.

Finished painting .. do you think my son will like this new toy?

installed seat, the G27 and cables

now this is almost done. Mounted the 32"LED TV..

and now I'm fabricating the holder for PS3 console.
I'm planning to mount it under the steering wheel, and the back of PS3 will be aligned with the back of TV.
And the get all the wiring tidy up.

That is exactly my phylosophy on this rig. Especially on the cabling, as you can see not much of it being exposed.

Actually i'm starting to make more for my friends down here in Jakarta. With their own preference, of course.

Yes, it was customized special for me, i'm 190cm high. So my friends average indonesian will have to slide te seat far forward . The default was far behind, though

The trick is to use solid steel rod for the side support, put the cables there, and wrap it all with cable hose.
Also I made a hole on the table just below the G27 steering unit, so the cables goes below it (not from the front above)

Next part will be the buttkicker . I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow so I can install it during this weekend.

Okay, another update.

the buttkicker finally arrived:

and I rearranged my cockpit, now in the front room.

Ohya, forgot to mention: i put an extension for headphone cable, ended near the shifter.

Next step:
fabricating bracket for buttkicker amp
add proper holder for the buttkicker
find a neat cabling solution for the buttkicker (you know, too much cable in the buttkicker package)

Buttkicker bracket under the seat. And I made the seat frame detachable.

This is the front end

And this is the seat end. oops little thing i forgot is the shifter bracket come with the seat frame. It should have come with the front end. Now it become cup holder

Actually, those pics a bit old. Now i'm on my way to complete my T500RS setup with the same frame.
