Online multiplayer Review Spec II

I've played online all with Tuned PRO physics cars last night. It was fun, challenging, rewarding, a learning experience, competitive, and fast.

Fun is the fact that you can see a grid of so many different cars in the same race. I was using the Amuse S2000 and I was leading the pack at one time against Ferrari F430s, Nissan GTRs, and Mitubitshi Evos...all were tuned too.

The challenging, rewarding, and learning part is making the decision on how to tune up your car before the race. You have the option to adjust your Gear ratio, tires, suspension, aero, power, and weight to suit what you need for that type of course and maximize your car's potential. You get a limited QTS points allowed and you choose what you feel will help you best on the course. HP, tires, weight, etc...

QTS limit was 650.

The competition was feirce, provided you can avoid the early crashes and move up to the front of the pack. Wheel to wheel racing and battled it out side by side with may other online gamers. It was fun!

I Lead a couple of laps, but also stayed in the back many times due to my pole position. I usually start in the back, mostly everytime. I did notice that some of the PSN ID names sounded Japanese like, so I think I'm still playing around the world and not just limited to my area. I have the Japanese version too.

Things I liked about Spec II online racing:
1. QTS
2. QTS limit
3. QTS

Win or Lose, you play, you learn, you make mistakes, and you adapt each time. Each time I go back into the QTS option, make an adjustment and try again. It's a lot fun racing online and trying to perfect the right QTS to be competitive online.

Interesting thanks . I heard there is some kind of free practice event online , can you confirm this and perhaps tell us how it works.

I'm asking because with Time Trial mode now restricted to S2 tyres I'm looking for a place set up the car with different tyres.

There is.
It's one of the options before you decide to race. You can go into QTS, make some changes and then also test it out before joining an online race.

In regards to tuning, is there a guide here on the forum anyway as to what which settings have certain effects on the car's behaviour/handeling?

Personally I hate the QTS and points system. It ALWAYS comes down to one perticular tuning being fastest and with QTS being allowed in all races it means you will always be driving the same type of car setup the same way. You will see in a months time or so when people have figured such things out (if the score boards track QTS times?...).

What happens in Forza2 will happen here if we dont get rid of GTS online. I got sick of Forza2 because all my cars were as light as possible with soft racing slicks and after all the tuning they all pretty much felt the same. Thats not right for GT. GT is about a love of cars.

You have a choice. You don't have to play those events. There is no reason to "get rid" of it or force yourself to put racing slicks on your car. Online event refreshed on thursdays before, and I'm guessing it's going to do this still. So eventually, new events will show up.

It's a new online feature, it's welcomed. Keep it up PD. People should test it out.

QTS opens up the more aspects of what it is to tune your car.

In real life, Tuners fine tune and balance their cars for performance around a circuit. This is simulating that in an online environment. Think of it that way. Tune you car, test it out. Thank god nobody is keeping track of you win / lose records like an online football game of Madden. Otherwise everyone would be dropping races left and right just because they are not in 1st place.

It is still about the love of cars. I value QTS because I want to tune my car a specific way and be able to drive it online against other human drivers to see how it stacks up. No body is requiring you to tune your cars all the same way like you did in Forza2.

First off all the pro online events allow QTS, so no I don't have a choice. Secondly nobody is forcing me, I could come last if I wanted to. But I don't want to and when tuning comes into play you do have to tune your car a certain way to be in with a chance to win against people of equal skill.
