Online status question

Greetings,
The 'Online' status seems to track your movements through the forums quite quickly ( :thumbsup: ), how quickly does it change from 'online' to 'offline'? It's just that quite often you can reply to someone, and they're not there.

Was just wondering...
 
I find it odd that after having taken my self off invisible that after I log off I am shown as online, but I later figured that it just says that for me for some reason, but eventually I'm shown offline.

Your "session" on GTPlanet will expire after 30 minutes of inactivity with the server.

That's just because your session hasn't expired yet. :)

So does this mean that the 'online' status is actually tracking who's got active sessions with the server at the current time? Neat.

That's right, but only people who are browsing something in the forums. The "regular" site (with static pages) usually carries around 30-50 people online at the same time (which means only about half of GTPlanet's visitors venture into the forums). :(

That's really odd! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I figured that this site was like 99% forums, and 1% static content!

Well, when it comes to sheer size, your stats are correct - I'm just talking about unique visitors to each area of the site. :)
