P.O.S Machine

Well the other night at work i borke the back drive thru POS machine. Anyway i spiderwebed the screen. My boss said i might lose my job. Also the repair is said to be 2000. Some questions i have are one cna the make me pay the 2000, im only 16. And also, this is the computer part, the screen is touch screen adn looks like this http://www.linuxdevices.com/files/misc/sicom-pos.jpg , so the screen has a plastic covering and a peice of glass beneith that and then the touch lcd screen itself. So the screen still works but the glass over it is broken, and it doesnt seem the liquid crystal spilt out, so isnt it as simple as replacing the glass, which i think should be free. The gentleman at the company said that sometimes if you just lightly touch the screen you might brake it, so its not too uncommon. But the way it seems the repair should be easy right, becuase the screen still went into different parts just i couldnt press the buttons becuase the borken glass was getting in the way.

For a moment there I thought your post was a repost of that example of how humans can read a word as long as the first and last letters are in the right spot, even if the middle letters are all scrambled up.

Anyway, this seems like something you have to talk over with your boss. Usually, you're not legally responsible for any machinery, unless you break it on purpose which is vandalism. If your boss threatens to try and make you replace the entire computer by docking your pay, I would just quit. This sounds like a fast food restaurant you work at, and those jobs are all over the place, especially if you already have experience.
