As the thread title suggest, list any paint chips that you found you could acquire in GT6 that were impossible in GT5. I'll start.

The Mazoria paint colors from the FT-86 G Sports Concept can be acquired now. I think they're some of the best looking color shift paints in the entire game. I'm so glad we can have them on other cars now.

You could get them in GT5, I have every one of them sitting in my inventory right now.

These could be readily acquired in GT5 without a problem as I too have loads of them on my save.

I know that I'm repeating @JLBowler & @GTP_CargoRatt , but the Maziora paint chips aren't any more easily obtained in GT6 than they were in GT5. You just buy an FT-86 G-Sports Concept, and Bam!

The hard ones are going to be the chrome, matte, and GT colours. As far as I know, they're only attainable either with the 15th Anniversary edition or by winning them at random in seasonal events. No trading anymore, thus no duping either.

I'm looking for the Matte Yellow we had in GT5. The stupid exclusive paint pack doesn't have it! I'm also looking for the brightest yellow in the game.

Those 15th anniversary paints were truly... special.

Pink chrome!

FABULOUS!!!!

15th anniversary paint chips at your disposal, without the worry of disappearing...they're great. Though I haven't used them yet, I tried them out on some cars already...

I found the 15th AE chips rather ehh… odd. There were very few colors that I imagine ever using.

Agreed. For the most part the AE colours are pretty dire.

Nice to have silver chrome for painting wheels though as it looks good in Photomode in the right light.

I put silver chrome on everything.

I put silver chrome on everything.
Even on your Ballz :D

And yeah, my comment above about the fabulous pick chrome was hyperbole. I think I'll find my favourite paints somewhere else.

Anyone know where I can find the "Gold Poly" paint in GT6?

Austin Yellow - the paint from M4 Coupe looks like Gold Chrome. I would say it's better than real gold chrome from AE colors because it's not so exaggerated.

As for paints from Seasonal Events - they are NOT random as it was in GT5. Everybody will get the same colors from seasonals. So, it's good opportunity to make a table which color you can get from specific seasonal event.
And, by the way, hurry up! Some seasonals will expire soon. Don't miss the colors!

Indeed. There are some other colors that are useable.

And of course there is a nice variation of pink colors, which always makes my 3 year old daughter happy :)

Soooo… OT: There are none, are there?

I think the paint acquisition in GT6 is stupid. There are car colors that you have to purchase in order to get that paint and god forbid it have a secondary color you get nothing. PD why even use such a stupid system if many cars come with stripes and two tone paint jobs? Lose that useless paint chip idea, it's garbage this isn't pokemon. I want a real color system that allows you to actually change he interior colors to at least manufacturer colors as you automatically get with certain exterior paint choices. PD just put the all the paints in the paint shop, list them by manufacturer. Fix the paint shop, it's impossible to use multiple paints on a single car(why is this still so?), it's nigh on impossible to mimic paint schemes that come standard on some rims, you try to paint it and it paints the whole rim(aggravating). I don't understand why PD adds things to the game with parameters but when you attempt to paint the parameters magically disappear without letting you know. At least stripes on certain cars remain and switch colors to remain visible. It's just odd that we have no control over whether to keep stripes or remove them at our wish and can't paint cars in more than one color using select amounts, I'd kill to just do a two tone paint job in any fashion I choose. Just add some tools to the paint shop PD and let us do the rest. Also we need a base model livery that we can add to cars that have no livery like the SLS GT3 or apply to any car we would like to use it on. Got to love it when they gloss over things and assume we wouldn't need them.

Thanks for the correction. I shouldn't have assumed that they were random.

I was a bit disappointed in the matte paint selection from the anniversary set. All the usual shades from GT5 would have been nice but more than half of the ones we got I would probably never use.

You still can't get the Viper Black (as you couldn't in GT5) when you buy a Viper in GT6. It's got the paint chip name and everything but you don't get the chip when you buy a Viper. What gives PD?
IMO it's one of the best black's in the game.

By the way, paint chips acquired through seasonals are from GT5 DLC colors! :)
I've just checked codes and names in my database - they are absolutely the same.

Actually, all GT5 DLC colors are in GT6 and they are not marked as DLC in GT6. Only PD can decide when and how many different paints from GT5 DLC they will provide.

Well there are a number of things PD has to "fix" yet aside from the paint system...

The lighting is good and blurring is fine, but just like in GT5 at first, the shadows cast by the cars and environment objects are terrible, they blip and flicker and (if that means anything) seem to "poly out" sometimes. I assume this is due to them trying to make the rendering code fast and smooth, at the expense of texture and shadow maps being rendered inconsistently. O well, they fixed it in GT5 eventually, and I sincerely hope they will in GT6 as well.

Once we do get the "promised" (or better, hinted at) livery editor (which was "hinted at" in GT5's announcements as well, but never materialized), I do expect to have a selection of stripes and flames or flashes or such available to apply to any car I wish, either the base color, secondary color and graphics should be able to have different, custom colors applied to them. That means a VW Sambabus, which comes in 2-tone, should be able to be re-painted in green and silver with orange flames on the side... if I so desire. I don't expect to be able to draw your own patterns on the car, too many people would try to draw naughty things on their doors... Same applies to wheels, if they have two or more distinct colors, they should be individually replaceable. Replacement parts or custom parts such as aeros or wings should be separately paintable as well...

Don't get me started on the course editor we got made horny for... I can't even begin to describe what I would like to see there...

I'd like to see a "pro shop" where one can purchase in-game paint chips, etc... and perhaps a way to let you add custom text to your windshield like vinyl decals, manufacturer stickers like Edelbrock and GReddy... and get this: aftermarket lighting kits such as HID's or LED accents, ground effects and tint for windows (black or silver is fine, thanks)...

If we wanted to round the playing off to some real fun, PD should consider making the online system a little bit more flexible to include certain rules such as speed limits (if you go over, you get a penalty for example) and scored drift battles.

I hope that (as with GT5) PD will gradually release more content like tracks and photo mode locales. While I am pleasantly surprised that NO tracks have been removed from the last release but new tracks were added, I do think there are still a couple of oversights... Why have ABU DHABI livery on rally cars but not have the Yas Marina circuit? Goodwood fine and dandy, but why no Pikes Peak? No Vegas drag strip? Chamonix but not Whistler? No snow in the Alps (Matterhorn) and no actual night on Ascari and some others? Where is my Toscana gravel track? No return of the Complex String, Red Rock Valley, Midfield, Tahiti Maze and Grand Canyon? And my all-time favorite car, the Red Mazda Amemiya RX7 ’99, which I lovingly called the "Red Frog" has been replaced by a yellow one with ugly sponsor stickers all over it...

But not like it matters anyway, since in online events, I am such a bad driver that I get laughed at no matter how awesome my car looks or sounds... :D

The Mclaren paint chips (i.e. Marlboro White, Carbon Black, etc), once hidden in GT5, can now be chosen on the Mclaren F1

Isn't there a chipped Viper Black on the SRT10 '03? I believe Viper Red, Viper Silver and Viper Black.

Yep, But it don't give you a paint chip. Only way I got the chip in GT5 was through the free paints with the log in bonus.
