did you ever try to trade in an good condition or new game and get a bad deal, well I went to my local gameshop to trad in gt4 prolouge (bought for 15.99) and supercar street challenge still in its original wrapping (christmas present) and was offered 35.00 for them. not bad so the next day I got all my old games the getaway (bought for 20.00 2 months ago) and tokyo xstreme racer (bought on hollidays for 9.99 and was only played once) and was only offered 25.00 for them all by the same clerk as the last day. COME ON, THATS BUL****E!! Has this happened to anyone else? Or did anyone get a good deal on a game?

Yes it stinks, but remember these guys are here to make money, not for any other reason

A couple of places Ive been to here offer a 7 day return policy, where you can buy it, play and take it back, with the receipt, and you can swap it for another game or get a store credit, after that 7th day though you lose money

have you guys ever heard of a tradeshop called gamestop, well in our town to guys opened a shop caled gametrade and the offered me for all 4 games 14.00 or 18.00 store credit but I would expect that coz they opened a month ago so they would make a profit. but the name of the shop I trade at is called xtravision, the biggest rental and tradeing shop in Ireland. They bring in 1000'S of euros in each shop every day and there are over 100 shops in Ireland so I think they could rase their giveout and down their prices. I should know I get 7.50 in pocket money and I spend 7.00 on rentals.

Then again, they've been used, there sitting there collecting dust. You end up making profit for whatever you get out of them.

I havent played any of them for a good 3 weeks, my ps2 isnt even hooked up. but I went to xtravision bout an hour ago and they offered me 35.00 or 30.00 off a new game or 27.00 on my account to rent or buy. woudnt it be great if I could take all of the offers and dont tell me that they need to make money and also I went to gametrade and asked if they had any action replay MAX with usb connector and the guy who owned the store said that since I was the first person to ask about that disk he would sell it to me for 29.99 instead of 34.99 and he put me on the list of reserved games and he said that they would get them in on tuesday so I got a good deal on the games and am going to get a reduced price AR MAX. NICE.

I was, gonna trade in my Perfect condition GTA Vice city game, and they only offered me 5 bucks at the time, I was pissed, because atthat very same store they were selling used copies of vice city for 30 bucks.....

they sell them 3 times what they pay you in my area of Australia :)

mind you i have been offered $10 for games i bought for $90 a month back....

just sell them on ebay!

I simply don't trade games anymore. There used to be a time, MANY years ago when I did, but I ended up owning about 3 games for my mega drive in the end LOL. Then again, I can actually afford to buy games now hehe.

I would say that's a good deal. Here you would be lucky if you got $10 or $15.

Sounds about right for here as well, in what general area areyou mate? :)

Selling them on Ebay sounds about right by me 👍

It pretty much depends on what the game is and how much they can re-sell it for. If it's a crap game that they'll either A) Never sell, or B) Sell for $3.99, you're not going to get a lot for it when you take it in.

I recently traded in a few games at my local Gamestop.. I think there were five of them, I ended up getting about thirty bucks all-told, and that was with an extra $10 from a "Trade in 3 games and get an extra ten bucks" thing they had going on. I think of all the games I gave them, FFX was the only one they'd ever be able to sell at a decent price.. the others (like Burnout.. not 2, not 3.. ye olde #1), they wouldn't be able to sell for more than a few bucks (hell, I didn't play 'em anymore, why would anybody else?), so I get crap prices on 'em. It's better than nothing.. I mean, I don't play them. It's better for them to do something useful like knock a few bucks off the price of a new game, rather than continue to collect dust.

Interesting story:
My friend's roommate works at Blockbuster. A month or two ago Blockbuster had a deal that was supposed to last for 2 weeks or something: You can trade in any 8 used games and get any new game they have. OR, they will give you 8$ for any game.
At the same time, Electronics Boutique was unloading all their old/crappy used games for a dollar.
Do the math. Some Blockbuster employees just came in with laundry baskets full of 1$ games and made an 800% profit.
That sale didn't last very long, but EB sure got rid of all their crap games fast.

whoever came up with that is a good thinker and 1 dollar thats not a good deal, i would sell them for at least 2.50 or if they were sort of good games like vice city 3.00 but that would probaly mess the whole deal up but in extravision they did a deal for a while on two different genres if you traded in three racing games you would get f1 2005 for free and if you trade in any three fighting games you get gtasa for free. thats great but for the racing games they have to be at most a month old and for sa they have to be 3 weeks old!

I believe that Burnout sells for less than $5.00. :yuck:

Actually, where i live we have a great trade-in shop. The offer 50 bux for 4 games. So i can walkin with like 2 demos discs and two 10 dollar games and walk away with a profit, becuase i did see Jampack demo discs.
