At least where i live you cant build a pc below €1000 that would be as good as ps5 pro more like €1300 or more. You cant really beat value for money that consoles offers,

And even if you buy simular hardware the pc will require more to run in general
And many times the games is much worse optimized on pc so thst will be a huge factor as well.
I think most people would advise spending a little more on a PC than the price of a console BUT that PC will be able to do so much more than just play games. So for me, it's not a question of cost but rather value in the long run.

I completly understand that, but i would go higher just to be more future proof,

Went to order a €2700 build just to have something worth for many years.

Most people already have a phone that can do almost everything a PC would be able to do for them I suppose.

For some people sure but personally I use my PC for graphic design and music, which wouldn't be possible on a phone. Funnily enough I have a really crappy phone though!

Mine came in just under that (but it's for work not games) and my idea was exactly that, to future proof. - and it has a disc drive

and it has a disc drive
To me this was the one thing I still have but never used for ages.
I would be surprised if it even works after all the years of idling about.
I think the last disc I used was Diablo3.

Meanwhile the console disc drive serves as a Bluray player for movies, and in some cases also for gaming when I decide I want a physical copy of a game for any reason.

I just use the one on my PC for taking screengrabs sometimes (it's related to my job). My SX is terrible for movies, struggles to read some discs and the interface is woeful. I have a multi-region player for my Blu-rays.

It will be out of date as soon as intel launches the 5 series cards

In what way its still cabable of doing 4k gaming many times even more than 60 fps,
With high/ultra settnings, with games even like Alan wake 2 it will run 4k at around 50 fps at high settnings, and its one of the hardest games to run, on ps5 even pro you will only hit like 1080p with same fps as that build i am getting, its all i need for many years ahead, and i went with amd because they was cheaper, was between 7900 xtx hellbound and gtx 4080 super, 4090 is just to much money, 5000 series will be even more expensive,

Their Will be more than enough horsepower for years ahead,

Regardless of what you get their will always be something stronger, but you have to consider how much you want to spend,

Their will be good perfomence for almost any game With this build even on highest settnings as long as you can look past raytracing, but its not really that important, and its not worth it given its perfomence killer.

Last night I spec'd a PC from PCSpecialist in the UK, not the cheapest option but they come recommended, I wanted to pick & choose all components. With 5000 series cars on the horizon I spec'd a 4070 Super as a placeholder.

Total price...£2,800-00!

I have seen pre-built 4070 systems for around £1,200-00 but with lots of shortcuts on certain components. If I ever get back into PC gaming it will be with a 5000 series card...and probably late next year as prices stabilise. I don't think a 4070 will be a great option 3-4 years down the line unless you enjoying tweaking settings. I'd rather let the devs do that with PS5 Pro.

Looks smooth at 60fps, but they can't get this old game to run smooth and be sharp like in the other mode..
This game was never well optimized, the demo on previous versions were abysmal for that, and looked very average if i remember.

Hot.

If they make a bundle with GT7 I might consider this to hop back in to the game, and get a copy for my friend who shared his PS5 with me around launch. If not I’ll wait until the Gran Turismo itch is absolutely unscratchable.

Also, Seattle sales tax is 10.4%, so I might actually be able to save money by going ~190 miles down to Oregon for a sales tax free trip to Best Buy… On the highway without severe traffic I can get 40-45 mpg, and at $4/gal that’s around $33.75-38.00, which would save me $32-37.

Enjoying math has put me in a prison of my own creation.

You need to calculate brake and tyre wear costs. General wear and tear. And then mathamatical probability of an insurance claim/accident, hijacking, IED , sniper kill.
Then I suppose medical costs for regional diseases that havent come to your area.

Will you be driving under a flight paths?

I’m already a delivery driver by trade so this would actually decrease my average rate and risk of wear and damage.

hahaha Have you considered checking out a Blackhawk or a AH-64. Might be the safer option for the operation.
In any case, I am getting that anniversary edition if I can fight the online bots. Not for the performance or anything; just for the damn retro grey color. lol

PS5 Pro variant will be limited to 12,300 units. A $700 unit that's going to get scalped to $1,000+.

Shame for those who actually want one.
The included DS Edge, vertical stand, and disc drive cover will likely push the price up to $1k anyway for the 30AE Pro. Just the Pro and Edge are $900 between them.

I have my PS5 hidden away behind my TV anyway so I probably will not go for the limited one. I will try to get two of the controllers though, but I think these will be much easier to come by.

Will never get this assumption that a subpar game's failure is why we got a rediculous price for this console instead of the consideration that was GOING to happen regardless.

While that's true, given them increasing the PS Plus subscription's price, it's still a major loss for the company. Sinking 400 million in the game was pure madness.

Given Jim Ryan's reign over there, I can't exactly say I'm surprised. Alot of decisions made under his leadership was pure madness.

Nice to hear the pads are coming separate. Also. Ice touch on the charge cable.

It would be a nice full circle if Nintendo started making disc drives for the PS5 Pro.
For those who dont know thats why Playstation exists as a thing, Sony made a CD drive unit for Nintendo but the deal went bad. Sony decided to make the Playstation.

And for those (like me) who only play cars (in this case Gran Turismo) a PC is not an option. PlayStation required.
