Yeah, I'm building a PC now. I ordered everything thus far except the motherboard, processor, video card and RAM. That'll be ordered on Monday. Here's my list for the PC so far:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112025

CD-RW / DVD-R Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827151086

External Enclosure (Because I'm doing Sata 3.0GB/s hdd and I have a IDE hdd now, so I'm just going to transfer data over into the new PC with that external enclosure): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817145656

Floppy Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16821103116

Hard Drive (I really don't need a bigger one): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822135106

Operating System: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16837102059

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220142

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814133150

Processor: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=E6400BOX

Motherboard: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=247083

Nah, I'm okay. I rather have en external enclosure for now because I'll be running one Sata and I don't want to mix the Sata and IDE hdd's together. So until then, I'll run the external enclosure, sell that, and buy a nice 250GB Sata hard drive for later :)

Wouldn't it be less of a hassle to just get it now?

A 250GB drive runs less than the price of that 80gig with the enclosure.

I got one of these recently:

It's quiet and fast.

I still need to put my data from this HDD onto the new PC.

I checked newegg and that motherboard supports PATA, so you should be able to plug it in and just copy it over. You wouldn't even need to screw it into the case. I think DOS mode or a program like Norton Ghost could be used. I'm not sure if the new drive still could be called C:

Took better pics last night with no flash last night, long shutter was good, but I still had to edit the photos. So yeah, here:

Hey, lookin good. Now you just need all the GUTZ to go in it!!! The waits gotta be killing you. :D

Yeah, I'm kinda worried because the rest is about $800 and I have enough, but I'm tempted to order from eWiz.com for the CPU cause it's $265 instead of $300 at Newegg. But I trust Newegg a little more so we'll see.

:P Thanks.

I ordered the motherboard, processor, RAM and videocard last night. Did 2nd day shipping too. Should be here Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday-ish

Newegg says my parts are coming in tommorow, but the tracking says it's on a truck already in my town being delivered to my house...

What the heck?

I don't know. It's 3:50 PM right now and it has never come this late. I don't even think I saw a UPS truck after 4:00 PM any day...

I got the stuff at around 6:15PM cause they shipped around my area last today. Installed everything, ran it, having some problems on the BIOS right now but the PC at least works and runs programs. Updating it right now to see if that can solve the problem. Will post ALL The progress pics later and a screen shot of the specs too if no one belives me ;)

ALRIGHT! Uploaded pics, resized, all this, all that. PC runs, have one more error that pops up and it's still that one above this post. I don't know if it's because I used HDD ribbons that came with the mobo on the CD drive or what, I might yank out of the CD ribbons in the Dell and put them into this PC cause I have a feeling it might just be that error :(

Pics are here, everything went fine. Had trouble screwing / snapping the heatsink fan in. Computer idles at about 27c and pushing it runs at about 47C - 60C! Nice. Don't know what's next for the build but I'll probably do another gig of RAM and buy a 320GB HDD too in the future. Pics:

If any one can help identify the problem in the second to last pic, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Thats a nice setup you have there Matt! I like how you show your build in its many phases, it almost feels like I'm sitting next to you as you do it! Great stuff, and I must say, you have balls of steel my friend! I know how to build computers, but I have never tried to build one from scratch with brand new parts! I would be too scared to try in case I fluffed it up! 👍

The last build I did was an old socket7 AMD 500mhz 512mb voodoo 3/5 setup. I managed to get all the parts off Ebay for little over £100. Its an old machine, but I wanted to play all those clasic 'voodoo' games - its does the job perfectly! On top of that, I managed to get Windows XP Pro to run on it perfectly!
