Hi guys i had this problem on wenesday The problem is that one of the USB Ports is broken so i tried to fix it but i couldn't so i took the usb itself and into hte broken port Metals To have connection and it fits but after that The Mouse cursour freezed and the liht of the mouse went off So recconected the mouse plug but it won't work so ilet it alone and other stuff but when i came yesterday and reconnected it works by switching places (the port wells)

So i took the port off the moved to port well to the original port to check if it works but then it went off so i did the same thing but wouldn't work

& now i came here and the mouse works

so could anyone tell me whats going on ?

I can't tell what's wrong with your usb port with those run-on sentences. Please calm down, explain in detail what happened and what you did. Is this a laptop or a desktop?

so your saying sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt? thats the best i can make out from your post

I have no idea what ports are broken. If the onboard rear usb ports and the front usb ports are broken then you can buy a PCI expansion slot usb card to add usb ports.

Sorry, I have no idea what your problem might be other than you broke a USB interface (port, mouse plug, ???) and tried to fix it. After putting the metal parts where they fit, sometimes your "usb" works, and sometimes it doesn't. Really not sure how to direct you to a solution.

Got pictures? Maybe that will help all of us out in understanding your problem.

No only the front usb port place metals is broken So when i reconnect the usb port the mouse freezes I Even tried reconnect the mouse plug but it doen't work and the mouse plug is in the rear

By metal part to you mean the port housing or do you mean the plastic tongue that has the 4 metal groove pins for power and data?

If you can, take some pictures, and upload them.

I Mean the port housing what i do i connect the port to the
4 metal groove pins which have a golden colour

Just to make it clear.

You are talking about the metal housing part(Silver)
Not the tongue with the data/power lines(White)

As seen in this picture

In any cause if any of these are damaged they need to be disabled because the "freezing" is the ports shorting out.

Well you can open your computer while it's off and pull the usb cable off of the motherboard. Most of the time they are labeled on the motherboard. That will make your front usb ports useless.

Either the way nick09 said.

or you can disable via the bios(assuming it has this option).

If you upload a photo of the inside of you PC i can tell you which one it will be

Their will be one closer to the back of the PC and its motherboard plug will be yellow or some other color.

The USB one is mainly black but may be white. and do not touch the one closer to the front of the PC as this cable sends the power on signal to the mainboard which starts the PC.
