Yeah, so weird to try and copy Supercars regs for historics, to make them seem relevant to the new cars.

Might as well be an open production class category so Supercars can put their stamp on it.

Yep, bugger all credibility at all.

There's already a couple of classes for such vehicles.
One allows you to put a V8 in things as diverse as BMWs, Nissan Silvias and the like. The other has a thin rulebook requiring real estate sized budgets to play at the front.
It's called Sports Sedans.

Hmm, a race car chassis that can pretty much take any manufacturer body and has a V8 as its core. Supercars sure did miss its MARC.

The only MARC I can imagine ever working with success, is the original that used Focus & Mazda 3 hatchbacks as the bodywork.
If they opened that up to any hatchback body, simplified the aero & put them on suitable tyres, they might have a chance of drawing some interest and a following.
More than TCR anyway.
