PS2 Controller to PS3 Adapter will work with steering wheel?

I'm thinking about getting an adapter that can connect PS2 controllers to the PS3 for about 10 bucks, I have a PS2 wheel that I'm thinking about using for GT5 instead of buying a Porsche Carrera or DFGT wheel I've heard it works with everything but does anyone have any experience?
 
I have an old ps2 wheel, and a converter, it works in the XMB and the Gt5 menu's, but it doesn't work in-race with Gt5.

But hey, it's only 10 bucks.

Ok I'll try it I think though, what wheel is it and did you try to set it up
 
Logic Topdrive GT1, and I tried everything, but it did not work in-race.
