Has anyone ever had a problem with their PS3 controller charger ports? Mine won't work and charge my controllers so I'm about to be Playstationless and wanna know what I can do.

My windows PC charges controllers as well as the new Sony wireless headset. You could give that a try.

I just tried my PC and it didn't work. Maybe I'll try the back ports on it. I hope it does, I'll try anything.

It won't recognize any of them and we've got 2 PS3s and it works on the kids' PS3 last time I checked.

I got my ps3 with the street fighter bundle. It came with one of those arcade controllers and a mad catz charger. Thats what I use to charge mine now. Maybe invest in one of those? I cant imagine them being that expensive. Can possibly find one used at your local game store.

This is what mine looks like. But I suppose any stand alone unit would work. No syncing required, it just plugs into the wall socket.

Look at the in the usb ports and in the controller and charging cord to ensure no "gunk" has built up. If that checks out try a new charging cord. If that doesnt work but you know the contollers are good, open the PS3 and look at the circuit board for "burnt" spots. If you could even see that, it would probably be on the backside of the circuit board. Also check the ribbon that connects the usb circuit board to the motherboard.
