Ironically both PS3 and X360 Disc Drives failed one week apart
With all the warranties finished I have to do the repair myself. I am unable to figure out why the PS3 Disc Drive isn't working properly. The event of its death was as follows. It all started when playing Creed and the PS3 started to freeze up, then as time passed by (the same day) the disk drive wasn't reading PS3 games anymore but it was able to read PS games and Audio/Video discs. It wasn't long after that nothing would read. I have the PS3 apart with the Disc Drive extracted from the PS3. Would it be simpler to buy another PS3?
PS3's are 300$ right now and I can imagine the Disc Drive being a Blu-Ray Drive would cost about the same price to replace. The other option is I can buy games online and install them, but I only have 60GB.
What would you do?
