PS3 Noise

I just got a refurbished ps3 after my old one shorted out and took everything else with it. I got the same model as my old one, fat 60gb.

When I put a game in it makes a clicking/grinding noise and get very loud. It will then stop and start again minutes later at a softer noise. I've checked the disks and there isn't a scratch on them. I've also found when you turn it off, that it will continue the noise for ~20 seconds.

Could it be that the screw to the cover is missing? Or is it a serious problem?

Might be that the disc loading mechanism hasn't been re-fitted properly (as possibility if its refurbished). The only way you are going to diagnose the issue is to open the console up and see whats going on as you insert the disc.

If it does turn out to be the mechanism there are tutorials on the net to align it properly.
