No....just no.
So tonight I'm with a couple friends enjoying Spa (which is an awesome track by the way :D)

But then, the unspeakable happened....

"An ethernet cable is not connected."

Frikking POS I thought in my head. So I signed back in, joined the lounge again, getting my car set up....

"An ethernet cable is not connected."

Grrrr....So I go through all the signing in crap again. Get in the lounge, get on the track

"An ethernet cable is not connected."

How about kiss my @$$?

I mean seriously, what gives? It's seriously making me mad. the PS3 is only two years old. My connection sucks horribly but that doesn't have anything to do with the console giving me the false error message.

Please help :guilty:

Sorry for the mini-rant. I just have to get that out so I don't take it to the PS3

Try disabling media servers. It helped me solve my problem when I kept losing internet connection via WiFi.

Have you tried using the computer's ethernet cable on the PS3, just to check the PS3's cable is not faulty? Also try plugging it in the same ethernet socket in the router as the computer was using.

Pretty sure it's not the cable, it's not even a year old yet. I don't know if it's even worth messing with, I can hardly play online because of lag >.>

Just because it is less than a year old does not mean it is not screwed up.

Try another cable if it also has issues, try in a new port on the router.

If that fails you have a PS3 issue, reset PS3 to defaults and check, if it still does it it will most likely be the PS3 network controller.

All really good suggestions Grayfox. Also check the link lights on the router and the back of the PS3 just to verify link and activity.

If you have a laptop handy connect it in place of the PS3 and see if it has any issues maintaining a link.

I had an issue when I used to need a cable for my 360 where the cable got pinched at one point and it stopped working properly so check for any defects in that. Unless that's the issue I'd say you have an issue in your ps3. And no age doesn't matter with anything...

I think this Happened to me before (Yep another CRappy Connection here)Try deleting the cache in GT5 .Helped for me back when I had this Problem.
