I, nor anyone else, seems to have any idea what was included, but the update is there. I checked Google, the Playstation forums and the Playstation blog -- nothing of interest.

Anyhow, get it while it's hot.

Dowloaded and installed. I don't see anything new, so it's minor, whatever it is.

Downloading right now. Didn't ask me to until just now though...

edit: Apparently "online stability" has improved... :/

From the Prologue thread:
New firmware 2.17 is up for all PS3 users (description: "the operating stability of some online PS3 titles has been improved.") - and there is hint it's needed fot playing GT5:P (thanx Tiduz from Neogaf):

Tiduz
"Please install firmware 2.17 on your PLAYSTATION 3 which is available from the 13th of March. Before playing Gran Turismo 5 Prologue™, please make sure that this firmware has been installed on your PLAYSTATION 3."

from gt5 beta test, wont say who i got it from. Up to you to believe me or not.

Intresting.

From the Prologue thread:

Interesting, no doubt.

I just finished a session of GT5:P (did some arcade, online, gttv, etc.) I wasn't able to tell any difference in that aspect, but perhaps it's too subtle to notice. It did seem that the progress bar when connecting to an online race moved along a bit faster, but that happens to me from time to time as it is.

If you had searched you wouldn't have needed to start a new thread!

There is a perfectly good and rather large system update thread which you can't have missed!

Please don't start threads like this until you have searched first...

Actually, I did search, thanks very much. I'll admit it was my error in missing the thread as I thought I had seen it before, but whatever. Next time I'll be sure to bookmark the link you posted so I don't create any confusion. Heh.

its only .07 numbers higher, meaning nothing new, just bug fixes or improvements. .10 increase means a minor new feature. 1.00 major changes redesign etc..
