Hi All,

Not sure if you are aware but form 4.05pm GMT today PSN will be down for 12 hours.

Make sure your logged in before and all will be ok as long as you dont sign out.

Info from playstation blog but cant link as work have a horrible firewall blocking out gaming sites...

Hope they dont block GT Planet :P

Fortunately GTPlanet is an independent concern.

Shame about the downtime though - I had my evening planned out :D

"Heads-up: Sony has announced a planned PlayStation Network outage for tomorrow, March 9th, from 8am - 7pm PST to conduct maintenance. This next part probably goes without saying; But during this window, PS3 players will be unable to connect Online to Call of Duty: Black Ops. We know... =(."

PSN is still working for me and its 8:20 AM PST. Wonder what's up with that.

What part of (EU) did You not understand... ?

Then why would they list PST in the COD Facebook post? PST is a time zone for 3 locations, none of which are in Europe itself. I have EU friends who are still online right now and its well past the time when the downtime was scheduled. Unless the maintenance was done in 5 minutes at 3 PM GMT, it didn't happen yet.

Sometimes with maintenance, if you are logged in before the PSN goes down you can stay logged in, but if you log out you won't get back on. Sometimes it doesn't always start exactly on time also.

Anyway there is already a thread on this here:- PSN down tomorrow.

Saw that thread. I haven't tried using PSN from any other location and I've been logged in since before 11 AM EST (8 AM PST, 4 PM GMT). Again, it doesn't explain why COD would bother mentioning anything on Facebook using PST as a reference if it didn't involve the US PSN as well.

EDIT: Not EU simply. US has the downtime as well but unless I made it in the "grace period", something is fishy

It does, it will be down for all regions. I don't know where the EU only stuff came from.:odd:

If I'm not signed onto psn, my races still get saved, correct? About to do an endurance race since I can't do anything online.

Yes, but if they pulling out a GT5 update after the PSN is up again, your endurance race could be dusted. Happend some guys here before.

So, better cut your PS3 completely from you iNet. ;)👍

Well at least Sony are consistent with their disdain for their customers.[/QUOTE]

yep. going on the 4th week without my 1 year old 52" Bravia 👎

Not true.... go to PS3 settings and turn Auto update off...this way it asks before it updates...this way you can just hit CIRCLE and you will just be signed out of PSN and can continue your race

I'm running remote races, would I be thrown off and lose all my progress or should I be fine?

does your ps3 auto update? As for remote races you have to be online so yes if there is a GT5 update you will be affected...But i doubt a GT5 update is coming...Also im in the EU and my ps3 hasnt went down for maintaince yet....i dont know where the OP got his info

It auto updates, but I've never been in a situation before where I've been forced out of a game to do so. I'll probably just get off the remote racing now. Not going to be doing any trading for the most part until after the update.

The auto update settings are only available with a Premium Plus abo. For all others this is useless = off.

You get forced to update GT5 when you start the game (and like some other guys mentioned when you are ingame in a endurance race, too) if you are online.

Can't find the thread, but they had some problems to stop the update. They could finish the endurance race, but haven't got the trophy for it!

Yea, the PSN is not completely down: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/03/08/playstation-network-scheduled-maintenance-3/

Start GT5 & you will see itself what the problem is. ;)

Get yourself what i have, a Fujitsu Plasma...no other flat panel comes close to the build and picture quality of a Fujitsu. 2nd choice is a Panasonic, 3rd would be pioneer...i wouldn't touch Sony with a barge poll if Playstation was made by another company, or if GT was on another platform
