Punky The Death Row Dog

Is it reasonable to put him down?

I voted yes because it attacked somebody sitting in a park and bit their leg and hand. That's a dangerous dog by definition. It's probably lovely the rest of the time, but that's how it goes.

The fact that the owners only seem to be releasing photos of it as a puppy might be telling. It also seems that like other "dangerous" breeds (Rottweilers, Pinschers, German Shepherds, various Bulls) they can be well-trained from puppy-hood so that they don't present a danger. If they reach adult-doghood without that training then it can be different to train the danger out of them. This particular breed excels at biting, it's how they were bred to do their job.

It's a really sad case, but I think the decision is probably the right one from the little information we have.
