Realistic Tyre wear and fuel depletion?

Is it really? I mean i recently did a 4 lap LMP online race at Nordschleife and RH or RM condition remained around 95%. Fuel level i can't remember, but depletions were set to either "real" or X2... Never did the exact same combo in AC, but i'm pretty sure that tire condition will be much worse.

Edit:
Just to clarify, i'm only talking about Nordschleife because of how demanding it is for the tires. I couldn't find GT3's average stint lenghts, but i remember WTCC class running into serious problems there with their tyre manufacturer's reliability.

Ye I feel like that it would take such a long time to wear down your tires and you never would have to fuel when you are just on 1x!

LMP1 cars on Le Mans (in real life) also do not change tires so often
last week in 1st this season GT500 race on Okayama Jenson Button with Naoki Yamamoto did 82 laps (300km, full race) without tires change, and they took 2nd place
Race tires do not wear out as much as people thinks

it also depends on the "tyre mix" because in one game "soft" can mean something different than in the other (in terms of grip and durability too)

tyre mixtures vary in different racing series in real life too

Exactly.

Like the Pirelli tyres in F1, they are made to degrade at a certain rate. LMP1 tires are made to last as long as possible.

Was about to post a new thread but found this so I'll add.....

Does anybody know a decent setting that will give a long (ish) race with multiple strategies that are pretty even? Last night I set up a 10 lap race with GR4 @ Dragon Trail with tyre wear and fuel depletion set to X10. The drivers soon worked out the limiting factor was fuel and we all ended up running the same tyres for the same distance so was a bit boring. Ideally a setting where some different strategies will end up similar would be good. Also, there seemed like there was not enough difference between tyre compounds as expected, the pace and longevity was too close between them. Granted a 10 lapper was probably not enough but I was hoping some would take a 2 stop strategy and some a single stop but it just did nt happen....... any ideas?

15-ish Laps at Kyoto Yamagiwa with x6 fuel and x9 tyres should give you a great 1 stop vs. 2 stop battle, adjust laps accordingly to tweak the balance if its a bit weighted to one side :)

Cool thanks I'll give that a go....... Is that for pretty much any car class?
