OK , no more B.O.C. ( for now ) :sly:

song : The last days of May
lyrics : they couldn't know they were'nt going far

NEW SONG

Bob Seger

Who wants to play those eights and aces

_ _ _ _ (4 words)

_ _ _ _ (4 words)

Wow going way on back for that one,Think I know it but dont want to say.

This might be too easy,
John Mellencamp

"What if I came Knocking
_ _ _ _ _ _ 6Words

And ask for your truth and your love and your honesty.

would that be the :
John Mellencamp ?
John Cougar Mellencamp ?
John Cougar ?
Mellencamp ?

or any of his other ALIAS'S

think I know the song , the lyrics , well my brain is kind of fuzzy. :dunce: ( no comments on the last remark Daddy , I know what your thinking )

Is it bad that I had no idea who John Mellencamp was until I just punched his name into youtube? The only song i've heard is "Hurts So Good".

So I'm out on this one.

Edit: Ha I've also heard "Small Town"

I sent him a pm for a new one. things are getting tough in here :boggled:

That is unfortunate. Plz no more goldie oldies. when you do that only you and daddy know the lyrics. unless you do something like Rock the Casbah.

I don't think there's a problem with what you're calling "oldies." I haven't seen an artist on here that wasn't fairly well know, aside from Less Than Jake. And even then LTJ is pretty well known if you know the genre. The problem we seem to run into is the songs being chosen. The last few have been pretty obscure. I would consider myself relatively knowledgeable when it comes to music, and I have numerous songs from pretty much every band used so far. It just so happens it hasn't been any of the ones used. I know the Mellencamp song, just not the words. I should go check my CDs.

I'm in the same boat as Icarus. For any given song, if it was played on the radio during its heyday, I will have a fair chance of knowing it. If it's a B-side, or little know to those that don't have the album, not so much.

Toby Keith (if you're going to change it up, change it up good, right?)

We got winners, we got losers
Chain smokers and boozers
And we got yuppies, we got bikers
_ _ _ _ (4 words)

We got thirsty hitchhikers

"I Love This Bar"

Toby is one of the few country artists I can listen to.

I did not know this one at all , so I cheated it :guilty:, your right Icarus25 👍

your up
giving you another point, which ties us up 👍

Chicago

Waiting for the break of day
Searching for something to say
Flashing lights against the sky
Giving up I close my eyes
Sitting cross-legged on the floor
_ _ _ _ _ (5 words)

dang it , :grumpy:

I can hear this running through my mind, but can't put it all together :dunce:

edit - I am really missing something here ,it's probably so easy, that I am making it harder than it should be. :boggled:

Well, I haven't heard that song either so i had to cheat which means I'm out.

If someone actually heard that song it's retardedly easy to figure out the lyrics. Meh, but I had to cheat so I guess I have no room to talk.

Wow I was sure this was easy, one of their most well-known songs.

BayCon...sorry man, I was hoping to get you involved. I thought these guys were up there with the popular 70's bands. I have so much stuff that maybe a handful of people would get so most of my choices are things that seem easy for me. What is some stuff you listen to? Maybe we can rework this somehow so as to get more people involved and make it easier.

I slept on it,I think I got it ?

25 or 6 2 4 ( song and lyrics )
(WHAT DOES 25 OR 6 2 4 MEAN ANYWAY ?) 💡

EDIT : any thoughts guys about maybe changing this somehow to make it so it is not so easy, and or not so hard. What appears to be tough for some may be easy for others. Please post any ideas.

It is 25 or 6 to 4. That would make Paragon the winner, unless you two want to fight over it. ;)

Thinking it over, I liked some of the ideas tossed around in the very beginning. Maybe we have a genre each week, or a certain number of songs; say 10 Classic Rock tunes, 10 Metal tunes, and so on. The biggest problem we face is location. Different things are popular where each of us live. North America and Great Britain are pretty similar, but it's not the case everywhere else.

Addressing what should happen if someone doesn't know, and it goes a while before a new song is posted...I say that if it's more than a day from the last guess or admission of not knowing and the original poster is nowhere to be found, someone else can Google the correct lyrics and then continue to the next song. All without a point for a correct answer of course. that way we can keep things moving.

I'm all for change to help give others a chance, and I certainly don't mind being stumped. It's not much fun if you know everything.

should there be points for stumping everyone, if its a well known band or even a well known song?

I like that idea PARAGON 👍
5 bonus points if you can stump the forum for more than , lets say 3 days from the time of posting ? 💡. Like you said a well known song though. If it is in question,we can ask the forum about it,sound fair ?

I like Icarus25's idea also 👍
Since PARAGON won that one,we can let him decide what to do.He can pick a genre week , a particular artist week , whatever , he won the last round. Then next Sunday, the last posted winner can choose his / her theme , so to speak, for the up coming week.

good job PARAGON,you got me on the "2" - "to" part 👍 adding you a point buddy.

I like PARAGON's idea on the bonus-for-stumping, but it can't be based off of the artist, as we have already seen. It's got to be on the song itself.

I don't know. 5 points seems a bit steep considering its only 1 point for guessing the correct song and lyrics. I was thinking at most 2. Maybe even 1.5. That way there is a reward, but not one that could put someone way out ahead.

I was just thinking that if someone pulls out a well known artist than they would receive points for stumping the crowd.
Otherwise people will start posting random songs from artists that had one album 20 years ago that no one has even heard of.

I know of songs that I have the albums of that I'm sure I could stump everyone on.

But where is the fun in that?
