Rennsport Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2025

I still don’t see the point of this. The single player is currently just 3x3 series to basically simulate and prepare you for online multiplayer. Even if that online is fantastic, there’s so little car/track content it looks to get very repetitive.

Yeah. They are realesing it with not enough content. It really feels like early access not full release.

I think even AC Evo in current state has more content…

People are buying it though. It’s doing quite well in the PS5 preorders, especially the deluxe version. People really love GT3s, Hypercars and the Nordschleife.

"plays shockingly well on controller"

"buttery smooth on Xbox at 60fps"

"not a simcade"

Hoki Hoshi, with some Series X gameplay footage towards the end.

Getting me curious, shame it's light on sp and content. Might keep it noted, and see how it goes, and sales.

I've played Rennsport quite a bit over the past year and, apart from the graphics (which are exquisite), I haven't been particularly impressed. The physics fall somewhere between Assetto Corsa Competizione and Gran Turismo 7, which for me means that it lacks bite, life, and that feeling of actually controlling a fire-breathing racing machine. The soundscape also lacks bite and grit, which reinforces the Gran Turismo 7 feel here. That said, I tested a version from earlier this year, and I know that a lot of things have been added, improved, and refined since then. It will be exciting to see how far Competition Company has come in just over two weeks, because I definitely see the potential in Rennsport.
This is supposed to be a negative, but as a fan of evil simcades it actially makes me more interested in the game.

Would've expected more promo by now for the release? Not sure if this is console or not, but mentions gamepad and maybe the other creators will have more content?

I like the penalty system, might incentivize cleaner driving if you get points for all contact. With that, good pad handling and a much more up-to-date car roster I can see it as a decent alternative to GT7's sport mode (and the sadly deceased FM of course) just for GT3 racing. PMR is the big elephant in the room though.

Agreed, definitely not a negative if accurate.

Still unsure where Rennsport fits into the console sim racing landscape, but it does have one thing PMR doesn't have, TCR.

Some console gameplay (PS5 & Xbox)

RENNSPORT FORD.webp

I didn't know the Ford GT was in this game (the Mustang GT3 is but that doesn't look much like a Mustang).

TCR? It’s not super touing or modern BTCC but it’ll do I guess.

GamerMuscle should do all the game’s promo, because he makes it actually sound and look quite fun.

Now I heard that there is problem with sending review codes to consoles 🤔

Anyone knows more?

The game servers are currently offline for a week of planned maintenance, so not sure any review codes would work at the moment anyway. Supposed to be back up on the 10th, not long for any proper reviewing to happen.

Article about the modding

Will be interesting to see how much support it gets. Being on Unreal may be an advantage over PMR & the FarmSim engine, but it probably needs a decent userbase to make it worthwile and that may not happen.

So, they must hiding something...

Not sure what there is to hide. The game's been in early access on PC for years, people have played the console versions on wheel and pad, the AI and limited single player has been seen and evaluated, etc.

Maybe the in-game economy pushes players towards microtransactions - there did seem to be a store for liveries. They could be hiding that like GT7 did at launch.

It's basically a multiplayer GT3 and Hypercar simulator with decent graphics but less content than its rivals. Not much to review.

It's moving from early access to full 1.0 launch including console launch for the first time with cross play, new single player mode, AI AND it's entire philosophy is switching from FTP/battle pass like mechanics to a single price full game purchase philosophy.

Not much to hide, just a lot to try and do whilst the game is still live and playable on the servers in early access.

Article about the modding

“I won’t only be taking existing mods, but having the right tools ready that everyone can build in their own style.”

Mod creation should be straightforward

This. All sounds good if it goes to plan, hoping all the upcoming titles that allow mods have track creation stuff built in or easy to download to a laptop, play about, even if we have to submit for approval then appear in our games. Maybe LMU should have mods too? Expect AC Rally on UE5 might?

Forza Horizon don't make it easy looking, the new trailer for Crew Motorfest Year 3 makes it look simple, basically a Trackmania for sims would be ideal.

Car and part sculpting when that's done?

But then they should give review codes, to start with SP, until are servers off.
Otherwise, only 2-3 days for review, not sign off quality text.

The SP is only 9 championships - it won't take long to test

It's also an always-online game, so I don't think it's possible to play whilst the servers are off.

Regarding the modding, this is one of the two user-made tracks at launch.

It was originally created for AC and then ported to Rennsport. Looks quite good, and hopefully an indicator of what is possible as there are an immense amount of AC tracks that would work well.

I forgot that this one has early access, so it goes live properly on the 10th after the maintenance period. Probably won't be any reviews at all before release.

Nope, still struggling to find a reason to care about this game
I’ll be back when the servers are inevitably shut down so we can all laugh about this together

Is this available on the consoles?

See Amazon UK have the standard version on sale for PS5, but not us on Xbox.

About 25% off: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=rennsport&tag=gtplanetuk-21&tag=gtplanetuk-21
Argos keeping it almost as cheap for us on Xbox, maybe Amazon will price match them, or themselves for PS5, their "Get a £40 Amazon Gift Card if approved for The Amazon Barclaycard" sounds fairly appealing right now, although that could be £40 on any other product/game, think I'll wait a couple of days and wait to see gameplay.

Argos also offer a '£5 off £40' email harvester: https://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/argos-5-off-40-for-marketing-sign-up-4621482
