I got this game a while back but only really started getting into it yesterday (Mainly because i got the little flying saucer with pac-man in it XD). Im starting to like the game. It starts off being really easy, but as you go on, it gets really hard. The achievements are really hard to get and its almost impossible to reach 1000 ach' points. The AI are pretty clever as well, pulling in when your trying to get by, and using nitrous right at the end so that they can beat you just before the finish line. The graphics are pretty good to. When I first got it, the score I would of given it was 5/10, but now I'm nudging it up to 8/10. It has a really good game of pac-man too. No need to buy the arcade pac-man if you have RR6 :sly:
 
Ridge Racer 6 sucks.

I completed through at least 30 of the races in it's "career" mode, yet they're at the same damn tracks. The races are flat-out boring. The AI isn't that smart. Being able to overtake you and fire off nitrous at the end doesn't take a lot of effort. The music sucks. After halfway through my first race in it, I just turned it off. And if you think all that sucks, what I'm mentioning next is far worse than everything combined.

The commentator.

He says the same stupid things, and I mean stupid. Whenever you hit the nitrous, he acts like you just set off a nuclear bomb. Whenever you do the slightest drift, that even a blind chimp with half his fingers cut off can do easily, he says "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE. THAT WAS AWESOME!". And, he sounds whinier than a 4-year-old who didn't get his McDonalds. After a few hours of playing with this game, I heard everything the commentator could say 3 times. And I thought John Madden was bad.

Granted, the graphics are pretty good, and passing up 20 cars is kind of fun, but I'll be able to do the same thing in GTR coming out next spring, or in ToCA 4 when Codemasters decide to start working on it.

If you absolutely love the Ridge Racer series, or if you play video games 12 hours a day, then I'd bu... no wait, rent it, since it pretty much sucks anyway. If you don't care much about Ridge Racer, save your $5 for the rental, and stay away from it.

It's a shame too. The Ridge Racer series has been in a lull ever since R4. RR5 was decent (roughly on par with Rage Racer), but the series needs to engineer a turn-around.
 
I dont care, I love my pac-man spaceship. Its what keeps me going. Granted the commentator is really crap, same with the music. I was the same around race 30 or so. I hated it. I was on the verge of putting it as one of the worst games I had ever played at one stage. But I put it on last night after leaving it since febuary. As I played, I progressed to the special and advanced routes, and started getting to the harder races, I started to like it more than I used to.

Dont mind Duck, RR6 is good value now being only $20 New at Gamestop. I like the game and it as some interesting stratagy when playing online, the nitros boost drifting is the key to winning. Long time fan of the series the game is better than RRV and RR for PSP. It's $20!! Its a nice change up from PGR3.

 
You have to get 15000 on the pac-man mini game. A special pac-man route opens. Win the race to win the car. You can get the pac man mini game by doing races 77, 102-111
 
I've got to agree about the comentator he was annoying, but the game its self i found to be great fun. It is very easy at the start but in the later levels it gets very challenging, then there is the no crash victories achievement which is in a league of its own.

Up to now i think this has been the hardest game i have played to get all 1000 achievement points in.

What about PGR3? Surely getting 22,000+ points in a cone stage and all platinum medals must be harder? :crazy:

But trust me, unless you're VERY, VERY good, and determined, getting all the points in Battlefield 2 is impossible. Unless you cheat most of the online achievements, but then it's still hard.

To be honest i was very disapointed with PGR3's single player mode, it was nowhere near as hard as PGR2.

Battlefiield 2, i've heard this from a few people. I am with an online rental company and it's on my list, so i will be getting it at some point.
 
lmao bwahahahahaahha! Oh god... why even bother making RR any more? Seriously, at least in NFS:U you had to actually drift the car. Hell, I think the rendering for the Initial D anime took more work. :rolleyes:

This is a PS1 game with better graphics IMO. Not even worth the $20.

I was referring to control wise. Any idiot can press a button for gas. I never even used the brakes at all. WTF, game do they think they can get away with. This is 06 and this game is a copout for being unoriginal.

I would like for you to play this game online, you will get owned so bad you will rethink the nonsense coments you make about the game. There is more to it that just pressing a button and turning. If you've played any Ridge Racer you'd kow it does not play like the PsOne versions. The nitro has enhanced the gameplay and added some stratagey. RR6 is not an easy game and its not easy to win online VS people who know the game well. you must be..... 14?
