Peugeot 208 Sketch 106 & VW GTI VGT Group 3 Lola B98/10

A bit of nostalgia for me.

The first car I have ever owned was a Peugeot 106 Sketch with a 45hp 954cc engine. No driving aids, no comfort features. Just a small car with less of everything.

Screenshot_20200512-191528_Chrome.jpg

Boy was I proud to have my license and I spent my 18th birthday mostly in this car. Had it for about 5 minutes, sweared to drive carefully as I was a beginner and then I drove into the the first runabout. A short 🤬 it and I took it with 50km/h, screaming tires and the biggest smile a boy could have. Learned much from the tiny french car, as all my friends had a stronger car. I was - except on dry conditions at the Autobahn - always the fastest, rallied it on Bavarian gravel roads and pushed the big Quattros from the left lane when everything was full of snow. Sold it a few months later as I really wanted to have something faster.
Livery features the plastic work and the slightly worn out red colour at the roof and bonnet, including some lousy attempts to cover some stonehits.

Another nostalgia is this Fly Slotcar, a Lola B98/10:

fly-a0501-l.jpg

The first car I tuned. Replaced the engine with a 21.500rpm racing part and reduced the weight. More grippy tires and lowered the body. Was a hell of a slotcar, destroyed everything on the good 'ol reliable Fleischmann tracks.
Real car was breathtaking, 6.0l V8 with 900kg curb weight. Reading a bit of this thing is interesting, the Videos are watchable!
Livery is pretty simple, thank you @Maninashed for providing the Jet inc. decal.

You’re on fire at the moment

Mitsubishi Lancer GT3 Ghetto Marlboro

To my own suprise I had positive feedback to my Ghetto Subaru - Handwritten experimental livery. So I made another one, this time you see a Marlboro Mitsubishi. Everything you see, including the shape of the Marlboro triangle is self made and carefully handcrafted.

Dodge Viper GT3 007 - LEC 55 (Canceled and replaced with the Trash BASF Renault)

Icons revisited, I took an approach at the holy 007 - Aston Martin connection. This is my background story for this entry:

2015. FCA scored the biggest marketing coup the car industry has seen in the last years. They paid incredible 55 Million Dollar to be the new manufactor in the James Bond franchise. 9 years after Casino Royale and the Aston Martin DB9R they put the new Bond Viper to LeMans.
The crowd was shocked to see that they came up with a pretty identical design as the Aston. Because of budget cutting due the massive costs for product placement, their design department was reduced to a coffee addicted donkey and two pretty smart dogs who learned to push copy + paste.

Livery is fully sport mode compatible! Adjusted equipment sponsors towards Dodge. No animals got harmed during production.

The LEC 54 outtakes

There were two cars, I prepared for a entry in the Space Race entry. As I madeat some point the decision to throw all my ideas into one livery, they are short of the final refinement a Final Entry deserves. But after I put some work into them and polished them towards a working livery, I really like them:

Renault RS.01 GT3 Trash BASF - LEC55

Initially I made this one as a joke. But somehow 🤬 hitted the fan, things escalated quickly and some strangers on the internet told me to change my entry. I mean, the best advisement came from such people. Googled yesterday about my headache and now I'm suprised but proud to become a mother next month...

Anyway, this livery is, as the previous Ghetto liveries, completly handdrawn with a pen and then converted to svg files. I was suprised how well it looks, until you give it a second view - then its trashy Ghetto appearance will hit you like a SUV at full speed.

Of course this is pure blasphemy to do such things with that great Procar BMW M1 livery, but if we all pray together for my soul, I'm confident that I find mercy

Aston Martin Vantage GT4 "Make your prayer" Artcar

Another artwork of my wife, scanned and converted to be suitable on a racecar. Unfortunately the brush effects get lost, but I like the way the colours are in unique shapes, something I think couldn't be achieved with digital decals.

BMW M3 GT Jenny Holzer Tribute Artcar

Seems like I am stuck a bit at this whole Artcar thing. I have no idea what happened, but since a few weeks I'm interested in arts. A few weeks ago I made bad joked about that...

This time I was kissed by inspiration from Jenny Holzers V12 LMR:

holzer_bmw_v12lmr_p0003278-b.jpg

So I made a version of myself. With quotes from Garfield and other smartass sentences. To avoid a complete white car, I scanned a geometric pattern and made a negative version to mask the whole car. So we have white matte with chrom design lines and text, similar to Holzers work.

Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Davidoff

Had a short intermezzo with a RX-8 when I was young. I rank it high in terms of handling, really impressive what they had made. Loved also that Wankel engine, which wasn't good, but bizzare. Had some quality issues with it, as I bought it used and it was hungry on engines, so I took my chance to get rid of it fast...

The new RX-Vision is a cool virtual successor! I really hope there could be some day a new Wankel car available on the market in the future, for me with a more reliable engine please :D

In the game I must say it looks magnificent. The long hood, the not overly aggressive styling and nicely integrated aerodynamics. The only thing I noticed is, that there is a small gap between the side windows and the B-Pillar... don't know if this is a mistake or made on purpose. But that will not stop me to use this new car, so I gave it a Davidoff livery I would like to share with you:

Mazda 787 & RX-V Denali David Loring

While looking for Mazda racecars, I found a interesting car I have never seen or heared before. This one off was a driver/owner built, running in the Camel Light category of IMSA.

Car is powered by a Mazda 13B engine and produces short of 300hp. Car had quite some success, I recommend to check the advertisment of this second row hero at bring a trailer . com:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1986-denali-mazda-camel-lights-gtp/

Used this car to make two liveries.

The first is a replica of it on the 787 LeMans monster. Had quite a hard time to find the sponsors, I couldn't find nothing in the internet. So the main decals are scanned from the excellent pictures provided by the ad. As the 787 has the exhaust only on the right side I had to make the livery slightly asymetric. Car is completly masked with a chrome paint chip, to give it the aluminium parts of the original. As it seems there was no replica of this car before, so I will say it's yet the best one in GTS

Also made a throwback version on the RX-Vision GT3. A bit modernized and some additional decals. This is also the first IMSA livery I have made. Base colour is white pearl for a more modern touch.

Ford Mustang Group B - "The Ferd"

Sort of spin off from the LEC 55 - we have seen lot of blasphemy liveries, and I was wondering if someone picks up the old Ford / Ferrari rivalry. As it somehow didn't come, I made a quick version by my self. To make it as cursed as possible, I slammed it on the rally version of the Mustang.
Guess Enzo would not be too happy to see this, sorry il drago!

Put this together without any idea how the final result will be, quite liked the result. Love how this one feels on the track, had fun in track day lobbies with it. Cornering speeds and exit traction are awesome, handling is crisp and precise. What a fun car!

Toyota Supra "PitStop " 24h Nürburgring

Had initially no idea what the result of this work should be, but I quite like the simple look of it. Just like a few folks have joined each other for a few weekends to build a race car to participate in the VLN. Something one does not see too often anymore in 2020, but that feeling of the 00s brought me very often self to the 'Ring in those days.

Porsche 993 Cup UPS 1997

Since the 993 Porsche popped up the first time in GTS I tried to get the 1997 UPS Porsche Junior Team livery done. Finally I have done the masking of the decals and found a at least acceptable font, but I'm still searching for better ones, as I improvised i.E. the world logo.
Car is completly masked to achieve the cool gold look.

VLN Nankang Dodge Super Bee - Cancelled LEC entry

I went with a car to the Nürburgring LEC, which is far away from everything (currently) in the Green Hell. The idea was born as I Had some fun shocking lobbies at the Nordschleife with Muscle Cars. With a good setup you can do pretty fast times there and it feels somehow good with those old machines. As I see the challenge in coming up with something credible in terms of the livery, I went with an "exotic" tyre brand. I quiet can imagine, that a rubber manufactor can build up sympathy with a fan favourite car, something I spectated i.E. with Falken, as they came up long time ago with Supras and Skylines to the Ring.

Also it failed hard with the Bugatti, I'm still a friend of the two in one liveries. At the front we have a rather classic hotrod style with matte black and flames while at the back futuristic, psychedelic lines are over a colour change paint chip with gradients. I made the driver names and the plate Sport Mode friendly.

Porsche 930 - Kremer 935 Silverstone

Guess I'm really too lazy for this whole replica thing. There is not too much fun in searching or making the sponsors, arranging lines and adjusting to another car for me. That's why I have found out, that I have a special talent in terms of Replicas: Finding the (at first sight) most easiest one.

While reading something about the 935, I have found chassis number #006 00019, which had in his career several liveries and parts equipped, including a flat nose. It first appeared in 1976 in Silverstone (finished 2nd place) and I wanted to cover the original livery. To my suprise, this is the first one in GTS so you have the Ringkurier warranty of being the best replica on the market! (Yet)

As so often, the details were less straightforward than I tought they will be. So it needed a dozen try and errors to get the so simple upper stripes on the side into the lines of the car. I also tried some slight body modification at the intercooler, the skirts and the back. To achieve full sport mode compatibility, I skipped the number on the front.

BMW M6 GT3 - Trash Red Bull

Had another round of fun to make a handdrawn car. I wanted to make a Red Bull livery, but the hipster in me was against it - to mainstream, too many of them already shared. Guess I have found a workaround :D

Again, everything is made with a pen, I'm especially proud how trashy the Bull came out. Couldn't resist to make it a VLN car...

Subaru WRX TT VLN Casio & Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Emil Frey GT3 VLN Riva

This Lambo is my entry to the Nürburgring LEC. Had somehow the feeling, that I have to change it. Not that I lost my love to the Dodge, but after I have seen so many great entries I had become nervous. Basis design is close to the GT4 Lambo, but I shifted up a gear in the details and maxed out at 300 decals.

Porsche 997 GT3 - 935 Kremer Retro

Really like this simple Kremer design I made on the 930. As i dusted off the Daily workout gifts, I found a 997 yet untouched. So I made a slightly modernized version of it and also had a look at these widebody decals. I'm not 100% sure if I like them, but it's worth to give them maybe another try.

Löwenbräu 962 and 996

Finally, after the DWG doing me not the favour, I bought myself the 962 Porsche. Amazing car! And I could finally make the Löwenbräu Daytona 1986 replica.
The car is masked with Y4 Metallic in a try to achieve the closedst colour to the gold details. As the car is a slightly different version from the original, I was forced to adjust it a bit, but I think it's very accurately replicated. Of course this one is Sport Mode compatible, including the driver names!

While having the decals already there, I also made a fictional Löwenbräu 996 GT3 Cup Porsche, also masked - here with Y4 Liquid to make it shiny. Could put some free details into it which I really enjoyed to do.

Chevrolet Corvette GT4 Trash Edition "Sponsor me!"

Back in the starting times of auto racing you would rarely see any "liveries ". They came up, when sponsoring became attractive - or necessary. That's the point of this trash Vette. Completly masked, which I think was not worth it. But at least the "decals" are now fluorescent....

Porsche Cup 2018 Team Konrad Motorsport

Being recently in a Porsche mood somehow. I have to say, that from the three GT3 versions in this game the 991 is my last place. While it has the best performance of them, I don't like the optic of it. It's huge and the wheels are gigantic. But I had some copies from the DWG lying around, so I made two versions of the 2018 Team Konrad in the Carrera Cup. #3 piloted by Rettenbacher and the #12 from Ineichen.

Note that they are not 100% Sport Mode compatible, the M&M decal will be unvisible if the standard plates are in use. Also the #12 Ultimate decal is a bit smaller than the original cause of the RS side vents.

Porsche 911 RSR Saint Globain / Vegla Throwback

Currently I'll keep on visiting the second row heros of Porsche. Today I have found this one:

Porsche_935_-_Harald_Grohs,_Südkehre_1980-05-24.jpg

As far as I know, this was Chassis #12, the picture could be from Zolder, 1980. Car somehow disappeared in 1985 after a engine failure in Sebring.

Transfering this livery to a modern Porsche gave me the task to give it modernized decals, which results in a name change with the main sponsor. To fancy it up and reflect the colours of the Saint Globain logo, I have masked the car with a colour shift paint chip. Also I tried again to play with body modification, this time the front inlet was my victim.

Porsche Taycan Löwenbräu & 930 Martini 934

Oh my, another round of Porsches. The problem is, there were so many liveries, designs, version, heros and 2nd row cars with them. It is Pandora's box...

Gave the Taycan some kind of dealership showcar treatment. Of course the E Porsche is completly masked.

On the 930 I decided to swallow my pride and went with a mainstream design. Design is inspired by various Martini liveries. This car was also a testbed for some body modifications, based on the 934 and early 935.

I fighted again my inner hipster and made another mainstream livery, this time a Gulf Porsche. Again I have made some body modifications. With the base of the 930 I am not sure what 911 this could be now, so I named it the "RS Turbo". Really enjoyed making these and it's interesting how different the 930s look when you compare them next to each other.

Honda Baja 660 & BMW M3 DTM Jägermeister

The Honda is my entry for the Kei Car livery editor competition. I wanted to make a pure fun car, and I had the feeling that a Baja Buggy could be a escape capsule for the weekend. Not too much money needed, manufactor backed engineering and warranty and the possibility to go (nearly) anywhere with open roof.
