Rolling and flipping a car online

I've used the search function and couldn't find anything regarding successfully rolling a car over during an online race.

A couple of days ago now, in the room that I was hosting, there was an incredibly rough coming together of 4 or 5 cars on the first banked turn at Special Stage Route X. I was slightly in front of the group that wrecked, and as I looked back, I absolutely swear that I was watching some poor guy performing a double barrel roll.

Like a true muppet and suffering from severe man-flu (which had turned my brain into mush and reduced my IQ to 50), I completely forgot to save the replay at the end to watch it back later.

Has anyone else seen a car flip over in an online race? I know it's supposed to be impossible, but I am 100% certain that I saw somebody barrel roll twice.

There is a single video up on Youtube of a similar event to mine, and I'm surprised not to have found any discussion on it whatsoever. Skip to 0:21 to see the incident.

If you roll onto either your roof or side and the game has to reset you on your wheels, You will win a trophy fot it.

I thought the general consensus was that the online physics were set so that vehicles could not be flipped?

99% of the time, the vehicle is restricted from going beyond a certain angle or simply bounces upwards at a completely flat angle, much like in the older GT games. The same thing applies for taking large jumps, the game is quick to slam your car back down to the ground, almost as if you hit an invisible ceiling.

I have set up several vehicles that will roll over as soon as you even touch the steering wheel while offline, but take those vehicles online, and they behave incredibly strangely. Two wheels will lift up a few inches after a lot more effort than offline, and then it's as if God, or perhaps Chuck Norris, comes along and toe-punts the vehicle back on to 4 wheels again. This cycle repeats very quickly and looks down right bizarre.

The same goes for cars that are set up to perform wheelies - they simply won't do it online.
