Metallica is cool
Joe Satriani IS the greatest guitarist EVER - nobody I've heard has ever come close
Yngwie Malmsteen is kickass
Disco is cool
I like Rush
Punk Rock blows donkey butt
Radiohead is annoying
I don't mind country music

Absolutely agree 100%.

Some rap sucks, some rap is cool.

AFI is a gay band.

Integra Type R like trance. Therefore he kicks ass.

Trance owns all.

AFI - Awesome band.

Some Trance is good. Most is not.

Guns & Roses still kick ass (the songs..not Axl's GnR 2.0).

👍 Greatest Threat ever created 👍

Rolling Stones suck
The beatles, for the most part, suck

The Rolling Stones suck dude, like the music is horrible but the video that they passed on "Close Encounters" [Beavis and Butthead] Ruled, The video were the Stone dudes were like huge and stuff, they were like kicking buildings and stuff. and uh, uh, i don't know or something. Rap like sucks and stuff. Trance sucks too. Metal kicks ass.

You have no right to say what is good and what is bad. You like Beavis and Butthead, Judas Priest, and Slayer is your favorite band.

You say you hate ALL 70s music, yet you like Judas Priest--a band that released over 5 albums in the 70s. You are a walking contradiction.

Everyone in this thread is saying bad things just about everything. SO why not you say some bad things about Beavis and Butthead or JP or anything.

You people are terrible.
problaby not the people, its probably just myself

Tool is an incredible band. Don't think I'd call them trendy.
I like Coheed and Cambria.
Rush is great, except for Geddy Lee's lyrics (and voice for the most part). Instrumentally,
they're top notch.
Days of the New was better than Tantric.
Jeff Buckley rules.

I don't like anything about them from the 70's, I like their later work, such as British Steel which came out in 80 or 81, don't remember excatly what year.

EDIT: I listen to some of their samples on Amazon.com, and the stuff that they realesed in the 70's is different than what they did in the late 80's/early 90's.

Led Zeppelin are underrated. Medeski Martin and Wood are underrated. Nick Drake is underrated. Judas Priest sucks. Metallica currently sucks. The Beatles are not overrated. No genre sucks (unless the definition of the genre sucks). Radiohead is underrated. I love music from the 60s. I love music from 70s. I love music from the 80s. I love music from the 90s. I love music from the aughts. I hate music from every decade. I hate the music you like. There is more good music today than there was at any point in history. There is also more bad music today than there was at any point in history. Rap isn't crap, crappy rap is crap. Stevie Ray Vaughan is underrated. Yngwie Malmsteen is very skilled, but he can't produce anything listenable. The Meat Puppets are underrated. Tool ar better than A Perfect Circle. Mike Patton is the greatest vocalist. Terry Bozio is underrated as a drummer. I love Geddy Lee's vocals as part of Rush. George Harrison had the best solo career of all the Beatles; he was also the most talented.

Zrow: Neil Peart writes the lyrics for Rush.

gtavcf: Please note that if the 60s and 70s never existed, you would not have your beloved Slayer, Judas Priest, Metallica, and Megadeth.

Oh yeah, if it wasn't for some dudes from the 60s or 70s, metal woul'd have probably be different or something.

(Edit: I meant to say metal whould have sucked more or been different or something) Some of the 70's dude made metal better like Black Sabbath or (I think its) Aerosmith or somthing

ANyways, I know I said it before, but This thread is cool. (Already on the turd page, some of the cool threads get lots of post quickly, such as "What Are you listenin to?")

One of my friends in HS, recomended me to listen to the Deftones (He told me it was real heavy music, which it wasn't), a few weeks later I bought one of their cd's, and it sucked for my style, too slow singing. BTW I said that I hate the 70's since that is all my mom likes, and I'm tired of listening to it.

[off topic]"You'd complain too if you sucked!" --Butthead[/off topic], I think I watch Beavis and Butthead too much

Let's go back to the cool stuff, where we posted bad stuff about music, some stuff is hilarious, I'm still laughing at some of the posts.

Christ, that depresses me. Well, he's not much of a lyricist, but he sure can play the drums.

Jimmy Hendrix is WAY overrated in my book. The mere thought of having to hear his so called "music" makes me run for some towels so I'll be able to guickly stop my ears from bleeding.
His voice is terrible and monotone. He couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
His guitar, while somehow amazing to most, sounds to me like cats screwing. Again, to go along with his voice, his guitar couldn't hold a tune if one was nailed to it.

Techno, Trance, House, blah, blah, blah, is a whole genre of music that I could do without ever hearing. The constant repetitive nature of these types of music (and I used that word loosely.) drives me absolutely insane. This style of music is similar to having to listen to a jackhammer, all, day, long. Which has about the same skill level required to make Techno music as required to stand over a jackhammer. Actually, running a jackhammer probably requires more skill.
Repetitive music, that lasts for ~15+ minutes straight, which really seems for an eternity, sucks donkey.

The Grateful Dead, Phish, Leftover Salmon, String Cheese Incidnet, Widespread Panic, Moe, Gov't Mule, or any other type of groove music, annoy's the hell out of me too. One of the saddest days of my life is when I heard the news that Jerry Garcia died. Cus that meant that his boring garbage would be getting some heavy air time. Another reason why this type of music irritates me, are the majority of fans that follow it, which are mostly deadbeats with no life dream other than to sell grilled cheese sandwhiches from the back of a rusted out VW Bus, dance around in mud and partake in a ludicrous amount of illicit drugs while preaching about peace and love. Go **** yourselfs and die you dirty hippies. :)

Oasis are the worst thing britpop ever produced, complete garbage. Nile, somebody said they were a good band. All I heard was random riffs with somebody going *UHGUUHUUUUUUUUUUUUU* in every song.

Not everything is an absolute.
  • Today's music is unharmonius garbage.
  • All genres have only a few good songs anyway.
  • Even if you'd not classify them as "punk," bands such as Blink 182, Hoobastank, Yellow Card, Simple Plan, are absolutely awful.
  • Linkin' Park stinks, though I will admit that the screaming is not as bad as the scream rock of the 80s
  • Scream rock is as monotonous as trance, some dance and techno.
  • 80s metal rockers sang like women, which isn't what I want to hear from a male lead singer, even if he does have purty blondE hair.
  • Remixes are terrible.
  • Traditional, that inludes some folk and Renassaince faire, and medieval, is underrated.
  • Anime has some of the best music, and some cutesy crap music.
  • Adult contemporary is underrated; Dido, McLachlan are good.
  • Irish classical is good
  • Fleetwood Mac are good.
  • Bands that sing about believing in yourself stink, as do bands that mostly do rock love ballads.
  • Hip hop, and what not, is wretched and offensive. My niece likes the song "Dip it Low," and it does not take a genius to figure out what the song is about. I know I cannot put full blame on the record industry, but I'm not happy that my niece, who's four years old, likes to shake her hips to that song. Bastards, they are.
  • Sting is great, but Message in a Bottle and Roxanne from his Police days are not great, by far they are not.
  • New wave is cool.
  • RobertPalmer died too young.
  • The 50s and 60s brought us the Platters, Temptations, among other Doo Wop bands, they played music. They cared about harmony of singer and band.
  • Ooooo, yeaahhh ahhh and whatever else these r&b/soul singers do is annoying me. And stop bastardizing the national anthem. Yes, that other America song is better.
  • Fred Teller is terrific.
Guess which opinion above is dishonest?

I didn't know Robert Palmer died....

Lenny kravitz is pretty cool. The Vines and the Strokes and the Hives Rule. The white Stripes Are okay. jet is one of the best new bands ever. Hatebreed is the best heavy metal screaming band. New Found Glory, The Offspring, Green Day, and Blink-182 RULE.
Bad Religion is the best Punk band ever. All rap still blows. Amercana and Ixnay On the hombre are two of the best albums ever in rock. Snow patrol is pretty cool. Satan Worshipping is WAY overrated...... AFI is the worst band EVER.
Rage Against The Machine and A perfect Circle Rules. Tool is overrated..

tool is great in their harder songs like parabola,
disco is the worst music ever,
rock rules all

That's right, like Tesla. Metal in the early 80's were cool, since many had Satanic messages, and that ruled. Many metal bands today don't sing about death or satanism anymore. They should.

Best Thread 👍

Wait, wait, wait. Just how is Tool overrated?
It's cool to say stuff is overrated. Like the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and any other well-known and well-liked band.

I thought Silverzone and gtavc liked the ****tiest music, but apparently Talentless does (or maybe I do?). Well, he likes New Wave, and hates Linkin Park, so he can't be all that bad.

Oasis aren't the worst, but they've certainly refused to make any good music lately. Nobody touches the Stone Roses when it comes to Britpop awesomeness.
