Hoping @MrDonovan and his car can make it tonight

First freaking weekend in 4 weeks that I can finally race... and my system won't stop overheating (doesn't help the temp in the barracks is like 85 degrees in freedom units) gonna have to pull out as I can't even do 10 laps without any issues with wheel or system and don't wanna ruin someone elses race. Sorry for the late notice.

Race room is open

Party chat open

Good luck to everyone tonight

After some consideration I'll take the open primary grid spot if it's still available.
It is available sir, and very happy to have you accept the primary spot. You will be with the Wright Motorsports team, and teamed up with @fruitloop31 for the remainder of the season. I'll work up a personalized livery over the next week or so and forward the link your way when complete. Have a few ideas.
See you in 2 weeks for the Michelin series.

@Noob01_lmdead (Raul)
Here is your update Platinum Class Livery. Your next BoP is back to base weight at 2723lbs, but now on the Racing Hard compound tires. Great work, and congrats on graduating into the Platinum Class.

@Fudman420
Here is your livery:

Feel free to render your own livery adhering to the series livery requirements if interested, but this is yours to use at will as well. If you decide to render your own, please be sure to forward the the livery link so I can get pictures and add to the spotters guide.

Roster, driver profile page, team profile page, and Scoring will be out and posted in the next 2-3 days.

Post Race Report
Event #4
at Autopolis International
December 3rd, 2021
Wow, what an event....so much to cover. Let's start with the notable battles:
Race 1
Most notable was the dogfight between @Roman_GT23 and @Harry Rowley that began brewing in the early laps, and fully engaged around lap 5. This battle lasted up to the final lap where @aedenmaddok got in on the action, and executed a daring pass at the tight hairpin after an attempt around the outside of the previous corner. Only then did the 3 of them spread out for the run to the finish line. Roman, awesome defense, and Harry....huge respect for the patience, especially after so many attempts to get around. Great battle all around.
Another big battle, this time 3 cars between @fullness , @Xradkins , and @Rob Brown ran from the opening laps to around lap 10 before fullness and xrad seperated from Rob, carrying on their battle into the later stages of the Race. Great job on some good, hard, clean racing.
My race started a bit rocky. In the opening lap, an incident in front of me unfolded at the exit of the hairpin. I had an opening, and gunned for it, full throttle, resulting in a spin, and taking me to last place. From there, I just got back to setting laps, and as luck had it, other drivers had some offs or incidents that helped my progress. One of those was @JDMKING13 , who didn't take long to get caught up and on my tail. After 2 laps of fending him off, JDM did get around to take the position. Next up was trying to defend against the polesitter, @Rotary_Pilot with @Yugofan trailing close behind. I had to pull out all the stops, placing the car in the widest way possible to keep them at bay. This all started around the 11th lap, until finally @Rotary_Pilot saw his opportunity and went for it with yugo ducking in and stealing a position as well on lap 21. In trying to mount a counterattack on yugo, at least, I fell short at the finish line, finishing 11th.
Finally, the closing laps battle between @Noob01_lmdead , @MrDonovan , and @IceWarden . Raul led at the beginning of this battle, with Donovan and Ice hot on his tail. Watch the final lap, and watch the 3 wide exchange and overtake from Ice....then keep in mind him and Raul were invisible to one another. Somehow, catastrophe was avoided with them going thru the finish line Ice, Raul, Donovan for 2,3, & 4. Great battle and worth the watch of the replay broadcast.

Now onto Race 2:
Race 2 opened up for me with a battle on Rob and yugofan. I manged to get a clean pass on Rob early at the hairpin, and then went on the hunt for yugo. It wasn't long before Raul was on my tail, now forcing me to turn my focus on defending...which was unsuccessful. After getting around me, I followed Raul until he overtook yugo, where I was now hot on yugo's draft and afforded an opening on the inside at the tight hairpin. Coming out of the brakes just a little bit allowed for a small lunge that snuck me in just in time, albeit with a little side to side contact (sorry yugo 😉) around the corner.
Next big battle for me was with @Fudman420 . Countless laps of nose to tail, Fudman did get around, just for me to come back swinging for the position...just for him to take it again, and back, and forth, until finally a gravel trap caught him on an overshoot into turn 3....after Ice Warden managed a very nice overtake on myself on lap 21. From there @aedenmaddok with his pace, smelled blood in the water and was right there to start hunting me for that for that 5th place spot. With a few tense moments and a tough defense, I was able to close out the race holding onto 5th place.
I could go on further for the other battles in this race, but way too many to note....this was already probably too much 😉. Have a look at the replay broadcasts to get a better look at the action and to catch the many battles that this event and track awarded. And please, feel free to share your battles and perspectives if you'd like.

Congratulations to our Event #4 Winner
@Noob01_lmdead /rauljimenez76
and our top 3 overall:
1ST: @Noob01_lmdead
2ND: @IceWarden
3RD: @Fudman420

Ballast adjustments have been posted. A 3% weight ballast was added for our winner, 2% weight ballast add for 2nd place, and 1% add for 3rd place.

With the 3% add to @Noob01_lmdead / rauljimenez76, he is now over the 4% threshold and is now graduated into the Platinum Class. His weight defaults to the base 2723lbs, but he will now be racing on the Race Hard compound tires moving forward. Congratulations on a well earned promotion.

RACE NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
16 player Party Chat Policy

We will use the Party Chat feature at the opening of the Race Room with the following Rules:

1.) It is encouraged, but not required that drivers enter the Open party chat to help in the flow of communication to start the night. (Especially drivers new to the series)
2.) Open Conversation is allowed at the opening of the Race Room to the official start of Qualifying, approximately 9:30pm est. ALL MICs MUST BE MUTED AT THIS TIME, thru Qualifying, and Race 1 (Host will remind all drivers to please mute mics before the call to start qualifying)
3.) Once the race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume un-muted conversation up to the call to mute mics before the next race.
4.) After the final race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume party conversations.

Be reminded that no discussions regarding on track incidents are to be discussed, except obviously, if it is simply an apology and no more. Please review the penalty guidelines for more detail on this policy.

And Lastly,

Please don't be that guy who has their mic on the whole race (If your headphones do not have a mute feature, simply leave the party chat before the Qualifying Session begins**
Points
Platinum and Gold Level drivers will be scored together under one standing.
  • 1st = 16 points
  • 2nd = 15 points
  • 3rd = 14 points
  • 4th = 13 points
  • 5th = 12 points
  • 6th = 11 points
  • 7th = 10 points
  • 8th = 9 points
  • 9th = 8 points
  • 10th = 7points
  • 11th = 6 points
  • 12th = 5 points
  • 13th = 4 points
  • 14th = 3 points
  • 15th = 2 points
  • 16th = 1 point

*No bonus points for pole or fast laps

Scorekeeping and awarding of points
Race 1: will recieve up to 16 points for a 1st place finish on down as shown above;
Race 2: will recieve up to 16 points for 1st place finish on down as shown above.
Points from both races will be totaled to reflect total points earned for the event.
Perfect night will total 32 points.

Points Tie Breaking Policy follows same policy as Snail League shown below:
In the event of a tie at the end of a race night, the driver with the highest single race finish will be awarded the tie breaker. If both driver have the same best finish, use the second best finish. 2 wins would beat 1 win and 1 2nd place finish or 1 win and one 2nd place finish would beat 1 win and 1 3rd place finish. The driver who wins the tie breaker will be awarded .1 point on the score sheet only for the purpose of breaking the tie for that night. The .1 point will not count toward the season championship.
Driver Classifications
Different Tire compounds for each driver classification will be used to help equalize the pace of the driver talent levels.
Platinum Drivers:
-Upper 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1
-will use Racing Hard (RH) Tires
-BLACK painted mirrors and Spoiler winglets, and black Cup Challenge numberplate with white numbers

Gold Drivers:
-Lower 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1.
-will use Racing Medium (RM) Tires
-YELLOW painted mirrors and Spoiler Winglets,
and yellow Cup Challenge numberplates with black numbers
-Gold Classed driver pace on Race Medium tires should nearly match the Platinum Classed drivers field

What if the Snail Driver's List is an odd number of Divisions during driver placement/season start?
*Recently archived and current race data from the Snail Sunday night series will be used toward placement of active Split Division Snail drivers.
**New/Ex Snail drivers with limited or old data, and New NON-Snails will be required to run a control time trial for placement.

Drivers who are initially Classed as Platinum at the Season start will be reviewed in the first 2 events attended. If found to be struggling and/or are significantly off pace (more than 1 second/lap consistently), the Series Director will relegate the driver to the Gold Class)
New for Season 2 and evolved further for Season 3, will be a Success Ballast feature on top of the initial Platinum/Gold Driver Classing.
Details outlined below:

Platinum Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(4% point weight ADD Maximum, approx 125lbs)
1st Place Overall for Event = +3% point weight ADD
2nd Place Overall for Event = +2% point weight ADD
3rd Place Overall for Event = +1% point weight ADD

-1% point weight Removed
(For any event finish outside the top 8 for drivers with added ballast)
If a Platinum Class Driver manages continued success after the 4% point weight maximum has been earned and applied, Congratulations...your just Fast!!

Gold Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(4% point weight ADD Maximum, approx 125lbs)
1st Place Overall for Event = +3% point weight ADD
2nd Place Overall for Event = +2% point weight ADD
3rd Place Overall for Event = +1% point weight ADD

Once a Gold Driver has incurred ballast due to a successful result, that ballast is owned and will not be removed until the driver is promoted to the Platinum Class...You earned it, you own it.
If a Gold Class Driver manages a podium finish after the 4% point weight maximum has been earned and applied, the Driver will be promoted and graduate to the Platinum Class at base specs and required to use the Racing Hard tire compound for remaining events.
(Once a Gold Class driver is promoted to the Platinum Driver Class through their performance and success, they will stay there for the remainder of the season)

Drivers who are absent or do not complete both races of an event entered will not receive any reduction in accrued ballast
Drivers Returning for Season 3 will begin the season at the same Driver Classing they finished for Season 2, and all drivers will be cleared of any ballast accrued from Season 2.
Drivers List

Driver List Priority
Once a 10 month season starts, the Drivers list will be set in "priority order" based on sign up date.
*The series will field drivers as follows:
-16 Priority Drivers (list will be adjusted monthly based on driver activity)
- An open number of Reserve Driver slots will be available and will be listed in no priority order.
*Any Priority Driver who misses 3 consecutive races will be placed on the reserve list.

Penalty Process

Drivers may file incidents after the last race on Friday race night to Monday at 8pm est of the same weekend.

Penalty filing instructions

-Submit your incident(s) by filing via pm to the Chief Steward, all supporting stewards, and the offending driver by including the information listed below.
List of Stewards and Volunteers
II-NOVA-II (Chief Steward)
Rob Brown (Steward)
Bologna_Duc (Steward)
TEX36 (Steward)

Incident filing PM's must include the following in this order for each incident to be accepted:
*Tag: 4 Stewards and Driver you are filing against
*Conversation Title: "Your PSN ID": IR filed against "PSN ID of driver you are filing on"
*Include the following information in the report:

-PSN name of the driver being filed against
-Your PSN name
-Race Number the incident occurred (Race 1 or 2)
-the lap number that the incident occurred
-the time the incident occurred (Use time posted in the middle of the screen)
-description of the incident being filed

(Multiple offenses filed on the same driver may be included in the same group PM)

The offending driver may plead his/her side within the group pm by 8pm est Monday, 10 days after the night Raced.

After the 1 week rebuttle period has ended,(Monday 8pm of Race weekend to the following Monday at 8pm) the Chief Steward and/or any support stewards will review all incidents filed and submit a ruling in the respective incident group pm by 6pm Friday of the next race event.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD AN INCIDENT BE FILED OR DISCUSSED IN THE MAIN THREAD, IN RACE, OR THE INGAME LOBBY. IF THIS OCCURS, A MANDATORY UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT PENALTY OF UP TO 50 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SEASON'S TOTAL, AND A 2 WEEK SUSPENSION FROM THE SERIES AT THE STEWARD's DECISION AND DISCRETION

No Self Reported Incident Reports will be reviewed. It is up to each one of us racers to hold each other accountable for on track performance. If you feel strong enough that an incident should be filed on an offending driver, I encourage all drivers to do so at their discretion.

The Stewards will be utilizing the penalty guidelines set up and used within the Snail Spec Racing Series. Follow the link below for:
Penalty judging Guidlines
All Stewards are to review a replay of an incident in question and reply to the PM with their opinion as to what "Level" the incident falls under, and a recommended point value within selected level to deduct. Penalty Points may be halted if sufficient on track concession was shown, however, no penalties will be halved for self report.
Again, Self Reported incidents will not be reviewed
*The Chief Steward will make a final review of all incidents filed, taking into account any rebuttals and the other Steward's grading of the incidents and will make a final ruling for issuing penalty points.

*Please Note: If the Chief Steward deems, in any way, the lead driver lost control, and the chase driver attempts to brake or evade, but still makes contact, no penalty may be issued at the Chief Steward's discretion. *

At a 10 week season's end, the results sheet will be reviewed for each driver. All repeat offenders of the rules of this league will be reviewed by the Chief Steward and Steward Corp on a severity and case by case basis. If the review reflects a consistency or lack of improvement, the Chief Steward may recommend removal from the series by a peer to peer judgement .

Penalty points will be shown in the Overall Season Standings Scoresheet and will be deducted from the event score it was recieved and from following event scores until cleared.

Welcome Trickybrewer to the Snail-Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. As a Reserve driver, you will cover primary driver abcenses if available. Bump in and grid priority among the Reserve driver pool is on a first to confirm available basis from the commencement of the last event up to the time qualifying starts for the next scheduled event. Typically 2-3, and sometimes more spots are open affording plenty of opportunities to get on the grid when available. Be sure to confirm as early as possible if/when you know you can be available to race if needed.
As for the livery, each team has a dedicated Reserve team livery that is shared to you for the team you are covering on a given night. A link for the livery retrieval will be posted/pm'd to you once the grid is established and prior to the race event.

I have reviewed your psn/kudosprime profile, and based on your DR, speedscore, and race history, you will be placed directly into the Platinum Class for this series. As opposed to the Gold Class that runs on race Medium Compound tires for the series, Platinum Class Drivers are required to run on the Race Hard compound as an out of the gate handicapp. Consistency and minimal mistakes will be key.

Car Specs:
'16 Porsche 911 GT3RS
491hp
2723lbs (lowest weight possible)
Racing Hard Tires (Platinum Class Driver)
Tuning is allowed.

Try a few our to find one you like. This car is a chore if run in stick for, but with a tune and the lighter weight, it is nimble and fun to drive, albeit still a challenge.
Glad to have you onboard. I will have the roster and scoring sheets updated with your entry.

Our next event is at Laguna Seca on Jan 7th. Be sure to confirm if your available to afford yourself the best chance at securing a spot on the grid if one becomes available. Looking forward to racing with you, and hope to see you at our next race event.
