Snap Up Gran Turismo Sport and Other Racing Titles With the Latest PS Store Deals

Was about to run to Walmart on Tuesday and pick it up for $59.99, then luckily I saw it was only $32.99 on the store

In addition to the titles listed above, if you are a Playstation Plus member they also have DRIVECLUB for $7.99.

Is it worth picking up? What is the situation with it?

I wasn't familiar with this title, but I did some looking and I see the story about Sony shuttering the product, and then the company that developed it got bought.

Also, GTPlanet doesn't have a special section for this game, so that makes me skeptical as well. For $7.99 it isn't much of a risk, but I also don't want to waste time with a game that is at risk of being abandonware.

What say GTPlanet?

Thanks!
Mike

Driveclub is still a decent game for single player. With all the downloadable content dirt cheap. Theres a ton of stuff to play as well as about 50 extra cars to play with.

Bought it yesterday and let it download while I'm at work. If I remember correctly, it was almost 64 gigs with all the updates. :scared:

Not racing, but for any other Star Wars fans out there Battlefront 2 is also on sale for $23.99 for Plus members.

I was so ready to pre-order the Deluxe edition (also on sale) for BF2 but after the whole microtransactions fiasco I held off. Glad I did, probably going to pick it up now though.

October-November saw some of my favourite series release new games but the only one I ended up getting on release day was GTS. Since then I’ve gotten a few others on sale which is definitely the way to go. I’ve bought more games in the past 6 months than I have since owning my PS4, 3 years I think?

We do, actually:

However, the game is done. Sony shuttered the developer in 2016, and most of the people are now over at Codemasters, working on Onrush.

Apologies for being a broken record here, but I've sunk a lot of time into BFII and I'd say it's certainly worth it at that price point. I got a review copy on the XB1 and with most of the more egregious microtransaction setups fixed, it's a lot of fun. I still don't like how the general economy works — you practically have to buy the loot boxes to progress your stats. But the sounds and visuals are so convincing if you're a Star Wars fan.

It's actually like GT Sport to me in a way: I play both fairly regularly, not so much to win, but just to have some good close matches. They both are simultaneously more casual (in a jump-in-and-play way) and yet I've become more competitive because of it.

Good to hear, definitely going to pick it up now:tup: I was disappointed not having gotten it around release because I spent tons of time on the first Battlefront, probably more than any other game on PS4. Battlefront in general is probably in my top 5 all time hours of any series if we go back to PS2 and if I kept track of that:lol:

So would you say the Elite Trooper content is worth the extra 8 bucks? I’d been planning on getting the standard edition but if you say you still need the loot boxes for progression, is it worth the jump start?

Judging by the number of people that you encounter online with the stuff from the Deluxe edition, I'd say go for it to avoid being stuck at a disadvantage. Especially if you're planning on putting a fair amount of time into it.

You're lucky; they cut down a lot of the grindier gun unlocks. Unlocking the final gun and its attachments for the Specialist took what felt like ages — though it's worth it, because the gun is a beast (especially against mechs), and it sounds cool as hell.

I wish cross-platform play was possible. :(

Downloaded the Deluxe edition a couple days ago and all I can say is WOW! DICE has really nailed the scenery this go-round. I’ve hardly scratched the surface with gameplay yet, but I’ve gotten a few online matches in and messed around in arcade to get a feel. Also started the campaign mode and damn is Iden a hottie:lol:

My very first online match though I actually somehow managed to get 1st in the point rankings at the end of 3 rounds:D On Kamino as the droids I got the cloning data and returned it to the extraction point for the win:sly:

Although, that was probably because of my skill at cargo matches in the previous game, which was basically the only game mode I’d play. Since then I’ve only cracked the top 5 twice. So far though I’m enjoying it. I only wish there were more variety of game modes like there were in the previous game. Because damn I really miss kicking butt in cargo :indiff:

Yeah, the lack of modes is a letdown, especially looking at how many the first game had by the end of DLC. I do sort of miss the ultra-minimalist menus too, since the sequel's gone hologram-heavy.

Also, new Hoth sucks.

But yeah, it can be fun, especially with all the eras. I'd say my favourites right now in terms of Galactic Assault (provided you have fairly evenly-matched teams) are Naboo and Starkiller Base. The final stage of Naboo is just nuts and can be extended for a long period of time, and same with the second stage of SB. I've grown to really like Yavin 4 as the Imps too, but the problem there is needing to intentionally lose the first stage to really enjoy the rest (and get a chance to play as Bossk, of course).
