Several sources in Japan are reporting the rumor (likely gleaned from early copies of this week's issue of Famitsu magazine) that the next game in the Gran Turismo racing series will include online racing, as expected by many. Contrary to earlier reports, though, the current word is that online play will be integrated into a true sequel in the series, rather than an expansion or special one-off game. Gran Turismo 4 (as the next game in the series would be called) would be released, according to current plan, in the spring of 2003.
Consume the requisite grain of salt and look forward to confirmation or other Gran Turismo news in the very near future.

So, given that all the games have been significantly late, we should expect GT4 in Q1 2004! ;)
That's right! :D

It has also been announced that it will have variable weather conditions and daytime effects during racing.

And new tracks from Hong Kong and China.

Wouldn't it now be called "Gran Turismo 5"?
