Quoting myself with roughly presented plans

Daily driver.

Chassis: Fix the rusty parts, spot welding, undercoating, painting, strut bar(s)

Suspension: Already have short stiffened shocks/springs,Aluminum sway bar brackets with PA6 polybushes, longer front wishbones, rose joint traction arms in front(need to buy that)

Brakes: Standard, renewed.

Gearbox: Short ratio differential, probably 4 speed (long ratio 5 speed was on the car originally)

Engine: Plans were 1100cc with 274° cam, but didn't got the cam so probably putting 1400cc engine with 244° cam, lightened flywheel.

Exterior:Respray, find plastic bits like bumpers etc that are in good condition or new.
Fixed rear side windows from old "Jugo" and rear window without heaters also from old "Jugo". Maybe one pair of taillights also from old "Jugo".

Later on,fiberglass hood and boot lid, 4-1 pipe header, better cam, maybe Dell'orto DHLA40 carbs, a cage. Who knows, all depends on money.

That's about it for now.
Now spit on it,oh glorious people

Won't twin Weber32s still do fine for a 1400?

Horribly ugly little car. Real piece of junk. Thoroughly approve! 👍

Makes me want to get one myself. :D

awesome!! the smaller and uglier a car is stock, the cooler it is when you do them up right! I'll be following this thing (:

It will do,but twin 40's with good jetting will do even better 👍

Sounds epic. Sounds like it'll sound epic. Nothing is more evocative of the good old days than the burbly idle of Dual Webs in the morning. ;)

and this is what americans mean when they say "a Yugo". i see the interior still screams Fiat.

Americans are mostly full of crap when they describe these cars.
You got far better models than we got,and we don't have problems with them.
If something actually brakes, you can fix it with 5$ worth of parts and two wrenches.

*chuckle* not anymore. I think, since they're now qualified as "antiques" in some states, what's left of them will be nearly impossible to get parts for.

In Serbia you can even buy a brand new shell, but they stopped to manufacture parts recently.

It's hard to get parts across the Atlantic, considering exchange rates and pure distance.

But that's still no reason to bash the project because it's a Yugo, Sniffs.

despite A112's claims that the Briklin imported versions were better than what they got at home, I won't believe it. if I actually got to DRIVE one at some point, I could voice a proper opinion. besides, I think the main grouse was over the dangerously sharp seat mountings and rear seat access. apparently, we were still all fatasses in 86.

all I know is that it's too expensive to try and get parts for non-american cars, and very expensive to get parts for even domestic cars, as they make nothing here, anymore. a112 will have an easy time getting that Koral back up to par, as it looks in a lot better shape than that poor Kadette he was working on last time.

btw, do they come in any other color but red? even the ones I've seen over here have been mostly red.

This car is new comparing to the Kadett, and the main reason i gave up on it is going back to the roots (Fiat),and also my whole "crew" drives Fiats.
I wanted a Ritmo(Strada) but it will wait for a few years to get financially on the ground.

Mostly in red,"mexico blue" and washing machine white :)

Had major problems with spray painter,so it turned out like it turned out,but I'm satisfied.

Wash Primer

But the higher state of mind finally gave me mercy in the form of advertisement on one domestic board.
Original Zastava NOS rear valance for old "Jugo" and Koral Junior (only two rear lamps),15-20 years old never used and extremely rare to find, especially this cheap!!!

I'm quite jealous. My super ultimate fantasy garage has one of these in it, but in my dreams it's got the engine out of an Uno Turbo in it.

Well,Uno Turbo engine is easy to fit,but quite uninteresting IMHO.

Well,Uno Turbo engine is easy to fit,but quite uninteresting IMHO.

It's not interesting but I was intending it to be a daily driver so I wanted to minimize any potential headaches.

If that wasn't the case I'd somehow find a way to put a Comotor Wankel in it. But that's just me, and I'm not right in the head.

Well, I have a lot of parts sourced in advance, and more free time on my hands. :)
Only thing I'm really short now is money, need to buy a lot of things like primer, paint etc.

still hard to believe you can get body panels that quickly, let alone bits like lenses. our parts infrastructure over here sucks.

You can get some of the parts here, but most of them are ordered from Serbia.
Although some parts were actually manufactured in Croatia (Jugoplastika in Split - Croatia made some plastic parts) , you need to order Croatian manufactured parts from Serbia :ouch:
