The little Fiat 128 looks awesome! :D Keep us informed okay? ;) --- Randy

Woohoo 1000 posts. :)

Nothing much happened. I went to college so I don't have much time to work on the car. Need to sort out new front bearings since they're worn and noisy. I rejetted the carb for the winter that is coming. I've done about 2000 miles so far. Average fuel consumption on open road is 30MPG, in the city about 23. I'm considering a 1400 swap since I have one in good condition, but it confronts my general idea about this car (55.5mm stroke and Gr.2 regulations that I'm a big fan of). I have a 1300 in not so good condition and I'm really short on the cash so I will think about all possible ideas 'till spring.

I disassembled 2 wheels after I checked if they were true. Started sanding on the dishes. Apparently they are 4x98 which is even better. CB is 62mm so 4mm spigot ring will be used. Dishes are 1" and will eventually get replaced with 2" sometimes.

I recently acquired missing bits for my Uno Turbo brake upgrade, but decided not to swap them due to huge weight difference in comparison to the original alu calipers. Unsprung weight means more to me on this engine than the braking capabilities.
Also with my driving style, I noticed there is no actual need for the upgrade. 227mm stop the car without any issues.

I also changed the setup for trip, 5.5x13 ET20ish in front for less oversteer. I just need to reduce toe out for city driving. It's very good for low and high speed cornering, but straight line stability is very poor.
Got on hold on some A112 Abarth S1 steel wheels in 5.5x13 ET0 (maybe even negative) that I will use for winter wheels.
I may drop the front a bit more to lose the reverse rake when Gottis will be installed. Only thing is that I can't decide on that one either since it will negatively affect the handling due to different weight distribution, but it's going to look better.

To make a short resume, I'm really happy with this car in comparison to Punto that was dull. I lost all possible comfort, but I'm not used to it anyway.

Here is some pictures of the car one month ago that someone took with temporary setup.

Quoting myself with roughly presented plans

That's about it for now.
Now spit on it,oh glorious people

Tooo sine :D legenda!

Some news, 40DCNF and Abarth camshaft. I'm waiting for adjustable pulley and maybe some exhaust headers.

I did a mistake not shaving off the cambox, and I'm basically all out of thick shims so valves are pretty loud. I need to sort a feed for the distributor vacuum advance and adjust the timing. Carbs need to be rejetted and adjusted, but here is a quick video I did. Also we started it without the Oil cap and oil meter so it's a bit oily around the engine :D

Nothing really new. I blew the engine and I'm building a 1500 now. Haven't driven it through the winter due to salt on the road.

I did some wheels though for my friends W201

Lulz!!

Look at the bright side: more work!
And you can now rebuilt it to an awesome spec.
keep us updated.

What's happening with the Yugo? (does that come from yugoslavia?)

Yugo is waiting for some time/money, standing still.

Some details about my WIP engine.

Will be using 1400 head with 37.5/31 valves, throated bowls, ports 29mm, bigger long side radius, enlarged combustion chamber to suit big bore, deshrouded valves etc.

Block Uno 1500 with OEM forged rods
Domed pistons Delta 1300, rare item
Delta 1300 pins,23 grams lighter per unit also rare item
Abarth 214 camshaft that is probably 40-80 with around 10.5mm lift, soon adjustable cam pulley
Twin 40DCNF Weber
Lightened flywheel to 3900 grams
etc.

Intake valves in the 1400 head 37.5mm are lighter than 36mm 1100 unit and improved flow.
Exhaust valves in the 1400 head 31mm are heavier than 31mm 1100 unit and decreased flow, seat angles look the same.

Valvetrain is pretty much same weight unfortunately.

I lost about 1kg rotating parts in lightest OEM pulley combo that I can find.
OEM forged rods that are 8mm longer are 30 grams lighter per unit than the stock longer rod. Exhaust valves are 2 grams per unit lighter. Pins are 23 grams lighter per unit. Pistons are heavier due to the domed form (bigger static CR) but that will compensate through the other savings.

Testing the fitment 7x13 ET20 with 21mm spacer front and 16mm rear

Just to make skimmed cambox and it will be good. My machinist is far from me and I didn't had a car right now. It's unadjusted and just with downpipe on the video.

Very nice! I really like the R888s, they're the final touch that really brings it together.

I can't wait to finish Gotti wheels for them, and bigger temperature outside for them :)
