Sim Racing Madness [SRM] simracingmadness.comPS4

That's a wrap on the 302 Series! Like most of the series recently, there was a lot of whinging in the beginning. By the end, most of you had a great time! Congrats to @mexxifrieboy for coming out of hiding to take the series in dominant fashion. I'm sure he'll creep back into the shadows for another year only to come back and school us again. A respectable finish for @Mike Lobban also! The master-whinger himself finished second overall despite hating everything and everyone. Also great to see @etcetera_911 make an apperance!

Also, holy crap we had 13 in the room last night!! Awesome guys!!

The balance in this series was pretty good! Think I'm going to try sticking with this format for the next series... which will be....

I'm not sure yet. I know I mentioned something last night, but we did that earlier this year. Give me a couple days and I should have something up this weekend. Suggestions always welcome!

Next 3 Series! 2 more TBA to take us through October, where you'll all be sick of it. Details will be posted on Page 1.

It's back!

Random weather returns!! The 2nd slot of each race will have a random weather slot. These handle well on wets, so just be prepared with a strategy.

Similar to the last Radical Series, we'll be running in teams! When you enter the lobby, your team will be decided by your livery. Any 2 drivers with the same team/livery will be awarded 5 bonus points for finishing in consecutive order. So when you enter the lobby, look for someone with similar pace, or just race strategically so you both end up finishing next to each other. 3 or more of the same livery will DQ all drivers in that livery from bonus points.

Mandatory Pitstop | Performance Impacting Damage | Mechanical Failures
Accelerated Tire Wear | Fuel usage On | 50% Chance of Random 2-4 Min Caution

Spring | 12PM | 5X Time | Clear, Random

7/21

Leipzig Full - 15 Laps
Willow Springs - 17 Laps

7/28
Dubai International - 15 Laps
Laguna Seca - 17 Laps

Any chance of bringing a Nissan to the battle?

The GTP Nissan is OP for that class. Way too much downforce and the tires are better. It is not even a Group C lol it is an IMSA car that they just decided to throw in there. It is one of my favorite cars but paired with the Sauber C9 I'm afraid it will just be too fast :(

Sadly no. Of the 2 LM Nissans, one is too fast and one is too slow. I feel the Sauber is just a more fun car overall. Plus more liveries. :dopey::lol:

That's too bad, I have set ups for both those nissans. The GTP gave the Mercedes good competition at Monza historic, lots of back and forth. It was better cornering, but the Mercedes killed it on the straight. It was a really fun battle. Worked my ass off to pass the merc only to have it blow by me on the straightaway. Start all over again. Was frustrating at first, but in a 90 min race... it got to be really fun. ( got beat by .002 at the finish line)
I guess it depends on the track.
At historic lemans it would get slaughtered...
P.s. ..you said the c9 handles well in the wet???... last time we ran it in the wet it was all over the place. Everyone in the room was losing it. Hit one puddle and wham... sideways...You gonna share a wet set up?

Jeez Bear, wanna bust my balls some more?

Can't drive Group C in the rain.
Can't drive four wheel drive.
Can't drive front wheel drive.
Can't drive the Camaro because they messed it up.

There's a common theme here. Never said anything about the wet... yet.:mischievous:

Lol... actually the Nissan is better in the rain than the sauber. And I figured out how to drive the four wheel drive Audi very fast and competitive. (Turn off the front wheel drive clutch)
The camaro I got a tune for, that I'm relatively happy with.
But I still haven't figured out how to turn front wheel drive into rear wheel.
So 3 outa 4 ain't bad.
And to be fair... you did mention the sauber handles well in the wet, so I assumed rain.
But seriously, thanks for running these cars.. I was just putting in a plug for possible future races.
Don't take me too serious. Those that can't do.....criticize.... lol.
I plan on getting good in the sauber. In the wet also..just in case.

I said the Radical handles well in the wet. Still need to run the Sauber again with different weather before I announce details. The Tracks will be the historic versions of Spa, LeMans and Hockenhiem. Sorry no Monza, don't beat me up.

Going on hiatus from project cars 2 for a little bit, I'll be on Thursdays for the ACC lobby

Ok Dave! You know you have a spot when you decide pCars3 isn't for you and come crawling back.

Bruh, this is straight porn. How long before the mods step in? :D

I'm actually thinking of doing a reset on the Pcars2 account, I swear after driving ACC the FFB just doesn't feel the same to me.
And after the porn music kicked in a clicked off.!:banghead::D

:gtpflag: RACEDAY ALERT!! :gtpflag:

Tonight we take the SR3 Radicals to some seldom ran tracks. Leipzig and Willow Springs, the later of which I don’t think you need to touch your brakes.

HOPE TO SEE YOU GUHS THERE!

Hey guys not sure if I can make it tonight. My asshole dad wants a "family dinner". Doesn't he know that SRM comes first?????????? Haha :P I kid. Maybe I can make the second race but we'll see. I'm looking forward to this series and will definitely be there the other nights! Have fun

All good dude! Hope it's something tasty. And hopefully you can avoid conversation... yuck!

Hell of a night! Started out rough, but I think it worked out in the end. i wanted to use a few less used tracks to even the field out a bit. Seems to have worked so far. No bonus points yet, we'll see if you guys can figure that out. Grats to @Rednose58 on the dominant race 1 win (also sorry you missed race 2, wasn't sure what happened and just went ahead). And great victory from @CB_racer at Willow Springs! I woulda had that 2nd for sure if it wasn't for @etcetera_911 bullying me. A couple more less used tracks next week in Dubai and Laguna Seca. Gentlemen, start your whinging. :D

What is whinging.? Perhaps you meant whining? ... (oh, by the way, I'm a closet spelling nazi)
Seriously tho it was a blast... I like that car, it's predictable I could feel when it was about to let go, and a little correction was all that was needed. Willow springs was my own fault, I was busy looking sideways to keep space between the cars and got into the dirt.

yeah it’s a great car, not sure what it’s problem was at the first track, but is always a blast at Willow Springs. Speaking of... handles pretty well in the wet eh? :sly:

Loved it at Willow and in the wet, just couldn't get any rear end confidence in it at Leipzig.

I didn't have any problems with it at Leipzig... I just couldn't mash the gas in tight corners. That's the thing with never running any assists, you get to learn to feather the gas to make it stick.
That's why I stopped using assists long ago. They were numbing my feel for the road.
This car was especially good in giving me the feedback with my current wheel settings. Another reason I like the car is it's pretty much the modern equivalent of my brothers old lotus 23b. I turned the brake pressure down to 60 and you could dive deep into the corners. On a tight track this car will be a giant killer.
It would be a good car to mix with a heavier high hp. Car on a tight course. There would be a lot of back and forth. (Kinda like a mustang vs mini challenge)

I missed last week so I don't know how fast it is, but maybe that VGTA 460hp Jag would be a good match? A lot of power and torque but shi.t weight distribution and handling. Why won't it let me say potty words lol

:gtpflag: RACEDAY ALERT!! :gtpflag:

More Radicals tonight! Stops at Dubai and Laguna Seca should be cool. We’ll have to see how nice the random weather slot plays.:sly:

Also remember there are team points, so if you and another guy finished similarly last week, you could be getting some bonus points if you’re in the same livery! Or just go lone wolf, I don’t care.

See you tonight!

Fun night! A sweep by @HazardLvL4 on the evening brings him close to @CB_racer int he points.. who stayed on top thanks to a strategic teaming with @Luckymouse71 in Race 2 to pickup some bonus points. Looking forward to next week. Always loved these cars at Imola, and Buggatti should be up there too.

See you then!
