Sim Racing Madness [SRM] simracingmadness.comPS4

Damn! That was fun! And close battles up and down the field as I was hoping for. Clean sweep by the World Enduro Champ @SGETI, but not without being denied of a fastest lap by @potvinsuks who also took 2nd at RedBull! See, there WAS a reason I denied you guys these cars for the enduro series, they are way more fun when everyone drives them!

See you next week! More for more slidey, slidey puddle time.

That was a lot of fun last night Shaun :gtpflag:.

However, I must say that I was really angry with myself for having a spin out on the first race with just 1 corner away from the finish line. I believe, I would have finished 3rd but ended up in either 5th or 6th because of it.

Then, in the second race I somehow hit the Pit Limiter button on my wheel twice in succession, causing me to take a ill timed 10 second penalty. At the time there were only 2 laps left in the race and had the lead by about 6 seconds :indiff:.

I was so angry that I made sure to delete the Pit Limiter button on my wheel immediately after the race .

Still, I'm happy with the result and the race quality was aces throughout.

If you guys remember, we even called it on the first lap of the first race that, there was a feeling that these races were going to be good.

Can't wait for the next one:cheers:.

Another great night in these sweeeet rides! Bonus points were a factor tonight an bumped a couple guys higher up the list. Congrats to @Luckymouse71 on his first win. A pretty decisive one too!

Next week is the finalé with the 320s, Sugo an Silverstone. The later of which was inspired by THIS episode of Top Gear. Until next week!

So in the last race, Sgeti bumped bear and decided to wait on him, but during that nonsense I ended up hitting sgeti whom was waiting for bear. Something like that. Should I still have to wait? Probably... I did wait a few seconds, but then lucky went past and I wasn't just handing it over like that ;) Good win dude!

I think we had 4 or 5 people capable of winning that. Maybe 4 because Mike is useless... Maybe 3 because so am I. :banghead:

Do I get the tiebreaker over you smcinnis because of the podiums? Or because your extra 5 points mean nothing to me? :P

Podiums and finishing position in the last race. And you’re right, lots of guys are capable of taking victory in these cars. There isn’t one clear winner, so long as @SGETI manages to crash.:P:bowdown:

Race 1 wasn't an easy combo, thats for sure. The long 2nd turn was nasty, if I rev'd too hard the car pushed out, if I rev'd too low the car spun out. Basically the same thing on the next left, the next right, and the last right. I just happened to get around one perfectly and got just ahead of lucky, only to run into "shawn michaels". I'd still be behind those 2 if it wasnt for mandatory pits. Beauty Undercut. 👍
I thought about trying it again in race 2, but I was worried the track would suddenly dry and i'd be on wets. Buggered that up anyway.

First track we raced at was the first time i have raced there. Fun track and race. My last lap spin cost me but fun race regardless.

Glad you liked the track. It doesn’t work for every car, but I felt it would be pretty fun with the BMW. That battle you Mike and Lucky had was pretty epic! Really fun to watch.

But when you nailed those corners you felt like a champ right? That track throws most everything at you besides elevation.

I favor tight tracks with alot weird turns except monaco. The e92 felt like it was made for that track tho.

MARCH MADNESS EVENT

wrs.png

(yes that is the SRM logo upside-down and backwards)

Who's ready to get WILD!?
The main series during March Madness is going to be a wild rally car event! You like cutting the track huh? Well guess what, that's the whole point of this series! Find the fastest way around the track you can! You make your own track. And to make it even more wacky, we'll be running the tracks in reverse as well! The only rule is that THIS IS NOT A KNOCKOUT NIGHT! Cut all the corners you want but try and be mindful of others.

There will be FOUR races a night, structured as such:

60 Min Qualifying #1
10 Min Race #1
10 Min Qualifying #2
15 Min Race #2
10 Min Qualifying #3
10 Min Race #3
10 Min Qualifying #4
15 Min Race #4

Qualifying is pretty straightforward, albeit with the cutting track for time is ok. On the forward layouts (Races #1 & #3), the race starts on GREEN. On the reverse layouts (Races #2 & #4), instead of starting on green, we will do a formation lap, using the extra time to turn our cars around and get in line. The reverse races will be slightly longer because they should prove more fun! It should be mentioned that in the qualifying leading up to the reverse races, you can leave the pit backwards... JUST DON'T ENTER THE PITS BACKWARDS! A DQ will result. Also, 3 Reverse laps = 1 timed lap.

:gtpflag: RACEDAY ALERT!!! :gtpflag:

Tonight we finish off the 320TC Challenege! Stops at Sugo and Silverstone. The last race is inspired by a Top Gear episode when they entered a 24HR race with a BMW, so expect a day-night cycle!

See you tonight!

Thanks all for coming last night! Sorry if I was a downer and screwed some race settings. And sorry to @Mike Lobban for not restarting the room. I know your feelings were hurt and you took to social media to express your outrage and how offended you were. ;)

Great series victory @SGETI ! I knew the last race would be a struggle, with the mandatory pit cooling off your tires even more!

Next week we'll do the knockout night thing and not have to take ourselves too seriously. I'll also be revamping/updating the recently announced Wild Rally Series after some more testing.

Tonight is a knockout night!! We’ll be using the Audi A1s and a handful of tracks for 5ish laps. If your not familiar with the rules you’ll learn them fast!

Hope to see you all bring your game faces. They sure are ugly.

It is my oldest sons birthday today and I have just been invited to dinner. I will be late.

No prob! I'm actually moving the lobby opening a 1/2 H anyways. No real need to practice or tune. So Lobby opens at 8PM EST for 30min qually.

Great night last night! I needed that, nice break (pun intended) from regular series racing. Sounds like everyone had fun! The winner of the Knockout Night was @etcetera_997 , with @Mike Lobban and @CB_racer rounding out the top. Poor @coltsjugg should probably be up there, but he got iced by the game.

I've decided to retool my plan for March. We will be doing a 5-week March Madness Series. Each week will be a different "Madness" Event, the first being last night's Knockout Night, and at the end of the month we will have a crown for the best of the worst! I'll post details below.

I figured out a way we could go backwards, but it involves going forward too.
If we drive forward to the last sector, then turn around and drive back to the finish line, then turn around again, and repeat?
But then we're losing the whole last section. And dodging oncoming cars... which would be madness.

It would. I've considered something similar for future knockout nights.
